We had the good fortune of connecting with Rachel Wroblewski and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rachel, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
I think the definition of success to me personally is different than others. Some think making lots of money means they are successful, some think having a family is successful, etc. I think success is an internal feeling that each person has. Someone might feel successful by their careers, family, business, etc. I think as long as someone is truly happy with their life, that is success. All those things I listed mean nothing if someone does not feel happy at the end of the day. So, to be fair, I think the real definition of success is happiness.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I think photographer became naturally easy, yet hard at the same time. I always loved getting cool shots from different angles. I will lay on the dirty street in the middle of Detroit to get a certain angle if I need to (I have done this more times than I can count). I think the passion behind each piece of my fine art photography is what sets me apart from others. I truly do care about every single detail, little or big. I also truly love being behind the camera lens. I wish others would choose to invest in fine art photography for their home or business and not buy the ‘cheap’ photos at retail stores. Supporting small businesses is extremely important, especially in relation to fine art photography!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Detroit has so many great spots! I definitely would take them to Green Dot Stables on Lafeyette, Hopcat, or to Second Best. Taking a nice walk by the riverfront would be relaxing after food and drinks I think too. Going to the DIA of course is on the list to visit while downtown too! There are so many places to explore in Downtown Detroit!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank my family and friends who have been supportive of this crazy thing called life.
