Meet Katelyn Jones | Community Leader, Photographer, Coach and Mentor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Katelyn Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Katelyn, what do you attribute your success to?
I would say the most important factor behind my businesses and their success is the mindset shift from selling or pushing something verses building a community that you believe in. While many of us believe in our product, or our services, it’s different to believe in the community that you serve. To want a fundamental relationship with them and to build a community with them. I would say when I began to make a mindset shift about the people I was serving things began to change. When I started viewing them as active participants in my businesses and building my businesses around their wants and needs as well as what I feel is fundamentally important.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I would say I’m more of a creative than artist but all form of creative work is art in a way. I like to think what sets me a part from others is my intentionality behind my work. I don’t do things that don’t align. My photography mainly centers around motherhood, capturing true motherhood stories and intentions. My work as a community leader for a parenting resource also centers around creativity by creating content that really hits home with the truths of motherhood. Nothing I do is not intentional or planned out in a way that will serve others. Within my mentorships and coaching I mainly try to work with women and mothers to help them to be empowered to build their own businesses built upon love and intentionality.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are so many people who have offered love and encouragement on this journey and I think that’s really important because without surrounding ourselves with those people we might not reach our full potential. As far as inspiration goes I like to draw from people who are doing things outside the box, right now my favorite podcast is The Papaya Podcast it gives me constant ideas and inspiration within my realm of serving mothers. My husband is definitely my number one encourager and helped me to step away a 9-5 and into Entrepreneurship saying we’d figure it out together. My business partners inspire me daily and I would encourage anyone looking to step into Entrepreneurship to find people who inspire them and push them a little bit. My family, my kids, my parents, brothers and sisters, Aunts and Uncles, have also been huge on this journey as they provide me constant love and remind me that even if something doesn’t go as planned in my business, they love me for me at the root of who I am and I don’t need to be more than that with them, which I think is really important, to have those people who you can strip it all away with, you’re not a business owner, or an advice giver, or whatever other titles you hold, you get to just be you, and that’s important in entrepreneurship.
