We had the good fortune of connecting with Antoine Stroman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Antoine, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success, is for me tuning into God’s will and what He desires for me to do. This allows me to use the gifts He’s instilled in me to their greatest expression. True success enables you to be a blessing to others — even beyond the realm of finances, and tuning into God’s will guides me to make the best decisions for myself (and my brand), as well as those around me.

Everyone has something unique to bring to the table; and for me, focusing on how He wants to use my gifts leads me down my unique path to success.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Essentially, my approach to my career as a director is leaning into areas of my craft I feel need improvement, and turning what I learn into tangible content or products that other directors can benefit and learn from.

What I feel sets me apart from other directors is my willingness to give; whether that be resources, time, insight, — I really just wanna see the people around me prosper in what they love and if there’s a way I can help them in doing that I’m all for it. This also manifests in my brand, so when I gain skills/knowledge that help me I try to think of ways I can distill what I learn into products or content, so others doing the same thing I do can benefit from it.

From business, to professionally and artistically, getting to where I am today has been a constant process of improving one area at a time. With each endeavor in my brand, big or small, I learn something, and embracing learning takes the ‘hard’ out of things and reminds me that I’m on track to doing greater things — all I have to do is try my best with what I have.

One invaluable lesson I’ve learned thus far is embracing the fact that there’s always a greater version of whatever I’m doing, and with intention it can be achieved. This lesson has stood true and reminds me that there are always greater heights available to me; whatever I’m doing now can be done better and I have the opportunity to figure out what that method is and apply it.

I want the world to know that my brand is everything me; my creativity, my lessons, my knowledge, my insight, — and through God’s direction I try to instill all of these into my brand’s endeavors.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m a homebody when it comes to downtime, but if I had a friend visiting who’s never been to Detroit, there’s definitely a few unique and good quality places I would bring them to in the area.

Firstly, I was a vegan for three years (not anymore though), so for old times sake I’d take them to two of the best vegan places I know – Detroit Vegan Soul and Trap Vegan. Trap Vegan has some of the best vegan burgers I’ve ever had, and all their burgers are custom to their restaurant. Detroit Vegan Soul just has great all around vegan food that even non vegans will love. I’ve taken people to both restaurants and the reviews are always good.

For nightlife vibes, I’d take them to The Royce and Deluxx Fluxx, both in Downtown Detroit. The Royce has some of the best wine I’ve ever had, and Deluxx Fluxx has one of the best atmospheres for a nightclub I’ve been to; some great major and upcoming artists have stopped there as well (Drake and Kayne West namely).

For good nature vibes, I’d take them to Municipal Park in Rochester. The park is huge – it has a tennis court, a stream surrounded by rocks you can sit by, a trail, a park; anything you need to just get outside for peace in nature you can find it there.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wanna give a shoutout to Brlynbey, Shutter 8, Lucy Ghavalli, and most importantly, God.

These three people have contributed tremendously to my growth on and off the scenes; in my career and as a person. They’re all very creative, inventive, and leaders on their own (not to mention, directors as well); I’ve gained a lot of invaluable knowledge from being around them, so shoutout to them. And biggest shoutout to God for molding me and my brand more and more each day.
