Meet Mylira Green | YOUR Favorite Therapist & Kingdom Healer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mylira Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mylira, what matters most to you?
The value that matters most to me is transparency because the only way to fulfill one’s purpose is to embrace one’s personal story and share it with others to assist with their journey through life. Transparency is not only a value but a fundamental principle that promotes trust, accountability, ethical behavior, and informed decision-making. It is vital in building healthy relationships, effective organizations, and thriving societies.
I have been asked if my transparency will one day threaten my ability to function as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My response has remained the same, “if my license gets taken away from sharing my truth to heal others, it is no longer meant for me to have, for my room will make room for me.” In my family, the value of “what happens in this house, stays in this house” was a staple. Although I observed this as an essential thread to our family’s fabric, I also saw the pain it caused when things went unspoken, yet future generations had to endure the same pain as the past generation. When I birthed my angel baby, a child born after a miscarriage, I realized that I did not want her story to replicate my story, my mother or
Transparency is my anchored value, as sharing my story helps others not feel alone. So, if my sharing makes others uncomfortable, I still move on with my plight, for it normalizes others’ human experience and means way more to me than gaining the validation of others. Transparency fosters trust and credibility. When individuals and organizations are open and honest, people are more likely to trust their intentions and actions. I want all I come in contact with to feel safe, and safety is birthed from trust. My village can not trust me if I am not able to foster a space where they can be themselves unapologetically to begin to live as the full person they were meant to be.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

I am currently focused on providing consultation to start-up and growing mental health facilities to create a solid foundation resulting in a transformation in the lives of those they serve, coaching sessions to create a safe environment encouraging brilliant minds who struggle to fit in to reach their highest level of self-esteem, conducting healing sessions to help people of God become more focused while stepping into their purpose, engaging couples in in-depth conversations to gain the confidence needed to make it last forever, and facilitating training/keynote speeches on the role of trauma and mental health in our society to promote professionalism and the importance of self-care in our daily lives and the workplace.
My ultimate goal is to close the gap between someone’s current reality and where he or she ultimately desires to be in their lifetime.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend, Sheridan, were in the area, I would start my day off with Sun Rising Yoga with Tasha Mack, Hampton Roads’ best yoga instructor. After that, we would grab breakfast at the mom-and-pop restaurant in Portsmouth, Virginia, called NIX. After visiting NIX, I would go to Mount Trashmore for a brisk walk around the park to get a moment to become one with nature. I would then grab lunch at Norfolk, Virginia’s fantastic restaurant called Boss Queen before we go to the Destruction Room to release any frustration from the week prior so we can genuinely end the night relaxed. I would then end our night with a moment to hit the dance floor together at Truth Lounge in Portsmouth, VA. This, for me, would be a perfect day because it would include moments of shared self-care, entertainment, and fun.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate this shoutout to my church family, Grove Church. I was a member of Grove Church when I was six to twenty years old. Growing up you could not tell me that Grove was not a family. I was apart of every youth ministry they had:
– Save the Seed (young girl mentor group)
– Step Team
– Judah Praise (praise dance team)
– Community Marching Band
– Youth Choir
– Retreat and Conference Group
Being at Grove made me feel like God was everywhere I went, and I could still have fun as a youth who praised God.
When I was twenty, I met my ex-husband and decided to worship with him. At that time, I had started to attend church with him and began my journey of finding out who God was to the adult me.
Fast forward to today, without my church family, I honestly do not know where I would be. Three months ago, I found myself back home at Grove, and my family and I joined together. Little did I know, God brought me back to the family I needed to get through a transition I did not think I was going to be facing: divorce. Since joining Grove, I have built a deeper relationship with Christ in an environment where I can ask questions without judgment. I have created a consistent routine where God is in it all. I have learned what wholeness looks like when one’s mind, body, and spirit are all aligned. Because of Grove, I am not losing my mind but learning how to live out God’s best life for me truly. Grove Church VA has kept me from giving up, and I am forever grateful.
