Meet Latricia Wilder | Owner, Vibe Ride Detroit

We had the good fortune of connecting with Latricia Wilder and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Latricia, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted to see a high quality, high tech, clean studio in the city of Detroit not just the suburbs. I also saw how the fitness industry was becoming pretty elitist and exclusive, making studios expensive and fitness apparel at price points that everyday people can’t attain. This should be the exact opposite, as every human being needs to know how to take care of their bodies and their health. So, I thought, if the industry is heading in one direction, lets disrupt it and give an option that is comparable to the quality at a price point that’s inclusive, and therefore Vibe Ride Detroit was born.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Vibe Ride Detroit is your one stop shop for group fitness classes. We specialize in Rhythmic indoor cycling, but offer body bootcamps, pilates, pound, High Intensity Interval Training, Step Classes, and much much more. Our mission is to create an inclusive, accepting, and motivating community that promotes how health is truly wealth. Our goal is to present living healthy lives in a fun, educational, and attainable manner for all to embrace at any level on their journey. We live by the belief that as humans you don’t heal in isolation but in community.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of the best spots in the city to me range for what you are looking to do. If you want to support small and have a great time doing it go over to Livernois to the Avenue of Fashion. You will find great stores, coffee shops, a classic Jazz spot and more. To eat you can always go to Savannah Blue for great food and drinks. Pizza Cat if you want a fun time with some really cool Pizza options. If you want a great bottle of wine with a good time, check out House of Pure Vin or The Royce. Eastern Market, if the weather permits, is always a great time to hand out and shop as well. Detroit also has some of the best museums and art exhibits that feature a lot of local talent.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In addition to my mom, who taught me everything I know about everything, I would like to shoutout my husband Stephen Wilder. In addition to being the architect that designed my studio, he has inspired me to step out of the corporate structure and fully bet on myself, while supporting me throughout some of the toughest times of my life thus far. For that I will forever be grateful!
