Hi Maria, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
PURE LIP

Presenting healthy options to the world of cosmetics, P.U.R.E LIP’s collection of captivating lip wear is designed to help everyone feel beautiful inside and out, indulging in the moments that matter – both big and small.

Mother Nature is the motivation behind our lip wear. Every product is vegan, cruelty free and safe for sensitivities. Our In-house team carefully crafts innovative shades that are not only fashionable but aid in maintaining overall lip health. The current range of 13 gloss shades promote hydration through a non-sticky yet creamy formula with a touch of shimmer, ideal for daily wear or a glam evening! The glosses are currently complimented by two lip pencil options to line you smile with.

P.U.R.E LIP lives at the intersection of beauty, culture and change, committed to making the world an elegant playground. From sustainable practices to inspiring young beauties to shine, P.U.R.E LIP nurtures our community with safety, style & grace!

ABOUT MARIA

I am a Wife, Mother, and entrepreneur, P.U.R.E. LIP is redefining the role that beauty can – and should – play in our lives. As a leader in business, I try hard to harness the power of focused determination, showing up and putting your best face forward as a Human Resource Director and Entrepreneur in beauty and realestate.

Watching my then teen daughter’s love of cosmetics, I, Maria L Bland set forth to develop safe lip gloss for them and their friends to wear. Kennedi, Cameron & Cachet provided their mom insight to what’s wanted but currently lacking in their lip collection. Known to be a dynamic Mother-Daughter team went on to research, test, and ultimately create the P.U.R.E. LIP brand. Now as young women, the daughter trio alongside myself intentionally use this cosmetic platform to encourage & educate from a unique perspective inspiring young women to recognize that their beauty (however defined) is perfection!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would visit the Belt downtown Detroit where many bars/shops are thriving. Breakfast/Brunch at LaPetite on East Jefferson and maybe a spa day at WoodHouse downtown Detroit. Check out some art galleries and boutiques on the upper west side of Detroit on the Avenue of Fashion

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shout out to family and friends for believing in our homemade product. Sisters, niece and Mother along with close friends whom have become repeat customers. Special shout out to my 3 daughters for being the quality, innovation, and proof behind the brand. Their candid and tangible feedback has helped me create a line of 15 different colors made for any age any shade demographic. In addition, to my great retail partner Danielle Wright, owner of Marva Elaine in Sandy Springs, GA where P.U.R.E. Lip is currently displayed. The first retail store to showcase P.U.R.E. Lips line of products.
Finally, a big shout out to my husband for continuing to help promote P.U.R.E. Lip to his friends and colleagues!
