Meet Kimberly Lavon | MA, CD, CEO of Mint Maven

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Lavon and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kimberly, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Pursuing creative as a career was less of a choice and more of a calling. It’s a language that’s always come naturally to me. Even when I didn’t want it to! Making money in this field is difficult as you most likely already know. So for that reason I tried almost everything to replace it. I worked jobs like: park ranger, boat rental operator, optometrist, personal trainer, fashion retailer, grocer and more. Nothing stuck. Creativity always called me back. It’s always been a part of my life.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets my business apart from others is my unique approach to helping creative people get money. A fine art painter is going to earn funding in a different way than a culinary artist, a musician, or an illustrator. Not only that each of these professions comes with different requirements, temperaments, and personality types. For that reason it’s important to figure out what these people like, what they don’t and how to help them build a funding plan for success. Every creative can build a financially sound and thriving business but first they need to know how to do so. That’s where Mint Maven comes in.
I am incredibly proud of my latest creation: Creative Compass. This unique formula identifies key aspects of each creative person and their practice. Together, we identify what you’re doing now that’s working, what isn’t, where you want to be and how to get you there. The system starts with a series of 10 questions. The answers tell me which funding option will work best for you. After our chat you’ll receive custom funding instructions with resource links and downloads to help you make art and money. The creatives I’ve helped so far love the service and product as you can see from my many 5 star Google reviews.
I got to where I am today by starting with a strong idea to solve the starving artist myth. I tested, built, refined and tweaked my idea with beta testers, clients and friends to ensure the highest quality of product. After 1.5 years of work my menu has been perfected! I now have the best and newest solution for artists and creatives everywhere to build sustainable, money making ventures.
I want to world to know that Mint Maven means business. Art business to be exact. I’ve dedicated my life to creative. I have decades of experience, drive, passion and the credentials to boot. If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a foodie so I’d have to say Sparty’s Coney Island for breakfast, The Daily Bagel for lunch, Corey’s for dinner and Soup Spoon for all three.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this shout out to my person, Andy. He’s been in my life only 5 years but supported me more than people who have been in it since day one.
