We had the good fortune of connecting with Tyler Ingersoll and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tyler, what do you attribute your success to?
Something that is most responsible to my success is people. I’ve received a lot of opportunities that I wouldn’t have come across on my own. Its the connections I’ve made with the people I’ve crossed paths with that grant me the opportunity to do things I’ve never done before. For example, I’ve been doing photography for a couple of years, but I never could of imagined myself doing equestrian sports photography if not for the people I’ve met; its brought me tons of opportunities in my photography career.

Also, word of mouth from past clients help in accelerating the success of my career. I’ve had past clients refer new clients over to me because they enjoyed their experience working with me and the photos I’ve supplied to them.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a South Florida “lens for hire” who resides in the Treasure Coast. I do not shy away from any opportunity given to me.

I’ve done a variety of shoots during my photography journey; which include, maternity, newborn, couples, pets, cars, family, landscape, event, concert, wildlife, and equestrian sports.

Equestrian Sports is something that I’m proud of because, I love capturing action shots of the horses that people ride; as they take tight turns around barrels and weave in between poles. Seeing the sheer power of the horses, and the relationship between the horse and rider is something really special. (sometimes the faces people make are quite goofy and funny too)

Wildlife photography is equally as meaningful because I love connecting with nature, going out on hikes, and observing Floridas beautiful flora and fauna.
The preservation of Florida through my own photographs is something that’ll always treasure.

Although I wouldn’t consider myself a professional, (at least not yet) I’ve made a lot of progress in getting there due to the support of my peers; whether it be from work, or people from Indian River Riding Club and Destiny Bounds. My goal is to be a jack of all trades, so I can provide my services to whomever needs it.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I had a friend come and visit; these would be some places that we would venture.

As a wildlife photographer, there would be some rural areas around Okeechobee that I would take them to; such as, the Taylor Creek Stormwater Area. There are some rural areas in Jupiter that we could also visit such as the Riverbend Park where there are lots of deer, turkey, raccoons and a variety of birds. A State Park that we could visit is the Sebastian State Inlet. A lot of my shore bird shots are from there, and its a beautiful beach!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to recognize my friend Becky. If not for her I would have never gotten into equestrian sports photography. Thank you for introducing me to DB and the IRRC, and allowing me to take photos of you and your goofy horses. Being in this type of photography has brought me so many opportunities, like my mentorship for starters.

Rebel is someone I’d also like to recognize. She has given me the biggest photography opportunity I’ve ever had, and I’m incredibly thankful that she asked me to shoot her Drill Team Competition!

Finally, Kaitlin is someone that Im thankful for. Her and the IRRC has given me tons of support regarding my photography. I thank her for letting me take her family photos and also being the photographer for her Jackpot events
