We had the good fortune of connecting with Jake Clark and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jake, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor would have to be the people I work with. Directors, other musicians, producers, etc, all have given me the opportunity to expand and evolve the studio. Being able to connect with them and share ideas has given the studio so much more insight on different processes and have fueled the passion to keep driving forward.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Falling Sky Studios specializes in writing music for film. We’ve written music for 21 films in 2022/2023 and produced a plethora of instrumentals/scores independently that are not tied to any film (these are posted to the studios YouTube channel). While films are the primary focus, the studio also books musicians to come in and record their own original material. I’m quite proud of the diversity of films I’ve been able to work on in our first couple of years. I’ve been able to work on everything from horror to sci-fi, drama, fantasy, and so on. I believe when it comes to a niche is important to be able to really perfect your sound, however, I think what sets myself apart from everyone else is my ability to write in such a wide variety of genres and sounds. I believe it opens up a lot of doors to different creative approaches and allows different sounds, techniques, and flow to be introduced.

I’ve been able to get to where I am today because of the support I’ve had from friends and family. I’ve only been able to get to where I am because of the connections and friends I continue to make. I’m always looking to expand my network and collaborate on as many projects as I can! As of right now the future is looking very bright for the studio! This project is still very young but it’s gaining traction every day in one form or another. The studio is currently booking for 2024 and I would love to take on many new clients!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to shoutout friends for sure! I appreciate them putting up with me sending them snippets of projects I’m on asking for their feedback and other thoughts all of the time. It’s the constant encouragement and thoughtful responses from them that gives me the inspiration to develop my craft and keep pushing the boundaries of what I do.
