We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Tomlin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m from Ann Arbor, born and raised. I grew up in a home where I witnessed both of my parents evolve in Entrepreneurship. While both of my parents have cosmetology backgrounds one grew into carpentry and the other exercise physiology. Growing up I watched them both work hard becoming their own boss. Watching them inspired me to do the same.

What should our readers know about your business?
Before I started my own business I helped my cousin with doing the custom shirts just helping him with whatever he needed help with in my free time and I enjoyed it he pretty much taught me everything until I was able to branch off and do it on my own without him being there. After a while I got burnt out on doing custom shirts I wanted to come up with a shirt and brand of my own and that’s all I wanted to do was just make my own shirt my own brand. I started off with a shirt for my kids which was the “Little Millionaire” shirts. Putting that shirt out was basically manifesting that my kids are going to be millionaires. It’s speaking it into existence and already planting that seed in their mind. And those sold very well. But I only sold those as kids shirts. And then came up with the “TALK NUMBER$” brand for the adults. Because that’s literally what i do everyday, selling shirts, going to work everyday, networking putting time and money into my business so that I can have everything and do everything I want. A lot of music inspired me just started hearing it lot of songs as far as Larry June, jay z, 42 Dugg just to name a few. Is it easy? No not at all. When I started on my own I had to get new equipment that I had no idea how to use. It was like starting from scratch. It took me months to learn new programming and figuring out the equipment. It was frustrating and I probably wanted to quit a thousand times but I knew once I figured it out it was on and popping! I had to do a lot of research before buying the equipment I had to make sure I was getting stuff that would last. And then shirts, I messed up on so many shirts lot of times I would just have to take a break and step away from it so that I could figure it. One of the biggest things I learned was I can’t rush it. Anything I rush I mess up. If I have to rush it I’m not doing it. Everything takes time. It’s all numbers. Also had to learn to take breaks because I never want to be burned out on my craft. I really enjoy what I do.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Downtown Ann Arbor is definitely one of my favorite spots. I would definitely take them to a Michigan game. And I love to tailgate. Michigan campus also has a lot of free museums I would go to all of them. Also a lot of the buildings have nice paintings on the side or back of them that are good for taking pics. I would eat at cafe Zola for breakfast they have the best waffles with ice cream, I would go to NYPD pizza for lunch they always have a different variety of pizzas and you can get them by the slice. And I would go to Palio for dinner nice Italian spot. pretty much everything there is good.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Definitely want to shout out my parents, all four of them, my step parents included. My uncle and cousin who have had their own shirt business and taught me everything I know that molded me into the creator I am today. Also the music I listen to sparked motivation within me.
