We had the good fortune of connecting with LaQuisha Wilson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi LaQuisha, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I desired to become the person that I once needed in my life. In the depths of my own struggles, I had experienced firsthand the paralyzing effects of fear. The journey to overcome these challenges became a personal mission, igniting a passion within me to help others confront and conquer their fears. Fearless isn’t just a name; it embodies the vision. Fearless is an acronym for ‘Facing Every Adversity Realizing Life’s Experiences Surrenders Strength. My mission is to assist other women in confronting their adversities and recognizing the strength embedded within life’s experiences.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The Fearless Experience is a non-profit organization, it’s my testimony lived out loud. Yearly we host events and seminars that promote mental health, sisterhood, self care, and so much more. Our goal is to help women live and be authentically FEARLESS in every area of life. 2023 was a great year. We were nominated for and won the Ladies Entrepreneur Empowerment Circle Entrepreneur Spotlight award and I am a humble recipient of the 2023 Faith Made Millionaire award.. We have a mentor program in a Redford Elementary school and we are gearing up for our 8th Annual Dare to Be Fearless Conference in April of 2024. Today I am here simply because of consistency and using my mistakes as a teaching tool. Getting to where I am in business came with a lot of wins but also quite a few losses. Navigating through difficult spaces like losing both of my parents in a year’s time wasn’t easy but I often say “I had the audacity to keep going!” A lesson learned along the way: “Everything you’ve ever wanted is on the other side of FEAR. I’d want the world to remember to Face Every Adversity Realizing Life’s Experiences Surrender Strength. BE F.E.A.R.L.E.S.S.

In my role as a coach, I guide women who may perceive themselves as unqualified to uncover the roots of their fears, empowering them to break free from stagnation and embrace a life of fearlessness. Through a comprehensive 6-12 week coaching program, we delve into the ways fear manifests in their lives, exploring strategies to overcome these fears and propel them forward in various aspects of life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d visit some of the new restaurants downtown that I’ve been wanting to visit. We’d go to the Riverwalk, Detroit Institute of Art, Campus Martius, Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. Depending on the time of year we’d attend one of the festivals or special events happening in the area.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mom – Valerie Nadine Ellis, she’s now passed but she was instrumental in pushing me to become the fearless woman I am today.  My husband, Walter E. Wilson. Also, my team. The countless hours spent pushing the Fearless Vision is a key reason The Fearless Experience has been able to accomplish all that we have.
