Meet Hailey Smith | Owner and Micro-Welder

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hailey Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hailey, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I was first introduced to Permanent Jewelry when I saw the trend on social media. Originally I was only interested in it as a consumer, but after tons of research into the business aspects of the trend, I fell in love with the idea. My family influenced and encouraged me a lot in the process of developing the brand. We, as a family, love sharing uniques experiences together and I wanted to bring that unique experience and bonding moment to my customers.
What should our readers know about your business?
Static Flow and the process of permanent jewelry is an oxymoron; it is welded in a quick flash, however the bond lasts forever. Static Flow offers high quality jewelry that is custom-fit and welded to you for everlasting, clasp-less wear. Permanent jewelry uses a micro-welding technique that uses extremely high heat to fuse two pieces of metal together. The process is painless, non-invasive and completed within a matter of seconds.
I believe what sets Static Flow apart from other brands is the level of customer service we provide for our clients. The welding service only takes about 15 minutes to complete, from chain selection, sizing, and welding, so we believe in making a quick, but lasting impact on those we service.
My business is still very new and I am still learning every single day and will continue learning. I am grateful for all the support I have as I overcome various challenges and accept new ones. One of the biggest lessons I have learned is to give yourself some grace. We are only human, we are always learning, and sometimes we need help from others.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My itinerary for any visitor is always food and experience focused. A stop at my permanent jewelry studio is always on the list, so they can pick out a new bracelet from the newest collection. A bit of shopping down Wealthy Street; one of my favorites stores is Basic Bee Boutique. For food, the Downtown Market is always a great option for when everyone wants a different style of food, but you can still eat together. For a chill evening out, either a movie night at Studio Park or drinks at IDC at Amway Hotel or AC Hotel with music from great local DJs.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
SpringGR has been a huge help and guiding force for my business venture. I was first introduced to the organization in 2019 when I took their course. As an alumni to that program, I was still able to access their resources a few years later; such as workshops, mentorship and networking opportunities. I would also like to shoutout Muse GR for their support and venue. As I was getting started and looking for pop-events and markets to attend, their space was made available for me to host my own events and to help get my name out there to my potential customers. Lastly, I am grateful for the support I have from every local business that welcomes me into their space and allows me to bring a unique experience to their customers.
