Meet Anquinett Pope | Founder of Pursue Hope Foundation

We had the good fortune of connecting with Anquinett Pope and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anquinett, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Prior to formally establishing my business, I had been engaged in the work for an extended period. I single-handedly managed all the tasks using my personal funds and assistance from willing individuals. Throughout the years, I collaborated with non-profit organizations and was made aware of the abundance of resources at my disposal. However, I consistently justified my decision to work alone. After careful contemplation and thorough investigation, I concluded that it was imperative to register my business legally in order to fully leverage the available resources for non-profits.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
During my childhood, I have vivid memories of growing up in a single-parent household. I watched my mother tirelessly struggle to make ends meet and take care of me and my siblings. Although we faced numerous challenges, there was always a glimmer of hope shining at the end of the tunnel. We were fortunate enough to have access to various programs that provided some relief for my mother during certain times of the year. These programs not only instilled hope in my family but also helped us navigate through the darkest of times. I always promised myself that once I achieved financial stability, I would become a source of blessings for others, just as many had been a blessing to me. The most important aspect I want the world to recognize about my brand is that I owe my success to the generosity of others, and I am determined to pay it forward by empowering countless others to thrive.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I have a strong affinity for both museums and the great outdoors, so our itinerary would undoubtedly include locations in mid-town and downtown Detroit. The DIA, African American museum, Detroit Historical Museum, and Henry Ford Museum are all must-visit destinations. After immersing ourselves in the rich cultural experiences offered by these museums, a delightful picnic amidst nature would be the perfect way to unwind. Additionally, we cannot overlook the remarkable transformation that has taken place along the riverwalk in downtown Detroit, so we must allocate some time to explore this scenic area. Although I haven’t had the opportunity to dine at many restaurants in downtown Detroit, I am eager to discover new culinary delights. While some of my favorite restaurants are located in Troy, Michigan, just a short 30-minute drive from Detroit, we would definitely make the effort to venture out in that direction as well.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to express my gratitude to Carl Graham, who is unfortunately no longer with us. He played a crucial role in my life and consistently engaged in activities with the younger generation that focused on giving back to and investing in the community.
