We had the good fortune of connecting with Antwan “CMC GUAPO” Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Antwan “CMC GUAPO”, why did you pursue a creative career?
It’s really natural for me to be creative, so once I realized others loved what I’m doing it was easy to keep going.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My artistic repertoire, encompassing rapping, singing, beat-making, and acting, is not just a display of varied skills, but a testament to excelling in each area consistently. The nationwide exhibitions of my talents have been met with overwhelming support, reinforcing the impact of my work on a larger scale. This journey has been filled with both triumphs and challenges, marked by unwavering determination.
The initial boost in my career was thanks to the invaluable support from Tee Grizzley’s aunt, JB, which led to a rapid and enjoyable start. However, facing an unforeseen event – being shot – I had to slow down to regain full functionality of my hand. JB’s sudden passing was another hurdle, making it difficult to navigate the path she helped facilitate.
Throughout this journey, important lessons have been learned. I realized that consistency is crucial in music; it’s not just about the product, but about being a constant presence. I’ve learned the importance of doing it for yourself, understanding that while we all aim to lift our loved ones out of poverty, the vision must be ours, and we must be willing to drive it.
I want the world to understand that my brand, No Love Entertainment LLC, is not just a creation, but a symbol of resilience, dedication, and sacrifice. It’s a platform for those who resonate with my struggles and journey. Through events like poetry nights, a battle rap league, party promotions, and working on the production side as an artist and producer, I bring a unique blend of creativity and personality, crafting a vibe that’s unmistakable. No Love Entertainment LLC stands as a beacon for outsiders, the overlooked, and the forgotten, embodying their stories, their strength, and their resilience. It’s a testament to the power of enduring and thriving despite adversities.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day 1:

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a huge shoutout to Calvin Evans. Since 2018, he has been an invaluable mentor to me in the fields of behavioral health and public health. After serving 28 years in the penitentiary, Calvin has dedicated his life to improving Detroit and empowering its youth. His commitment, resilience, and ability to inspire change are truly remarkable. His work and influence have not only touched my life but have also made a significant difference in our community.
