We had the good fortune of connecting with Anne Storino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anne, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When our 31 year old son died, I wanted to honor his memory and continue to follow my passion of helping others.

I also wanted to start the business with my 9 year old granddaughter in order to teach her that no matter how difficult life gets, she can always pivot and start over.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I worked in restaurants for 35 years while always working towards the next promotion in order to improve myself and help others.

I loved training others and believing in them even when they didn’t. I was always looking for the diamonds in the rough and training them into positions they never dreamed possible so that they could better provide for their families.

When I was deciding to start my own business, I realized what I loved most about training and development was the organizing. So even though I knew I wanted to help others with their grief, I started with what I knew best and just kept moving forward.

I quickly realized that my organizing clients are typically dealing with grief or loss and in need of life and grief coaching. So adding grief and life coaching was a natural progression.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely have them stay in our home near Lake Norman. We have a sign in our home that says “Storino B & B” because we love visitors and blessing them with our gift of hospitality.

Our three boys live in Charlotte so we would plan a Low Country Boil with them and my best friend, neighbors and other NC friends in our back yard.

We would go out on the lake for boating, sun, relaxation and laughter as often as they liked. There are numerous restaurants on the lake and we would pepper their visit with our favorites.

We would go to the Whitewater Center for rock climbing, ziplining, rafting, ropes course, hiking and biking.

We would take my best friend to Asheville for hiking, beautiful wineries and the Biltmore.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our Granddaughter Gianna Storino believed in me and cheered me on. She handles our social media for us and keeps us current with what is going on with all the different social media options.

Gianna is the strongest person I know and deals with situations in her life that could deter so many others; but she never gives up and keeps smiling. Gianna also encouraged me to add on extra certifications to provide the additional help my clients needed.
