We had the good fortune of connecting with Claira Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Claira, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
I want to help people not only share the story but see the value of their experience. We all live vastly different lives so we can all learn something from each others life’s experience. I believe that we all have a story. From that story we can change the trajectory of a future generation we just have to be willing to learn and share.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
2024 I decided to take a chance on myself and “officially” start the business. It’s new but an exciting journey! I am a copywriter. I’ve had the privilege of writing product descriptions, biographies, and chapters in anthologies. Writing has always been a passion and outlet for me but my own self doubt kept me from taking a chance on myself and officially start offering my services. I always had the thought in the back of my head that it wouldn’t be profitable, failing was inevitable etc. What changed my thought process was to stop trusting my insecurities more than God himself. It’s a joy to help people to write their vision. I’ve learned to trust myself more. Trusting myself honestly built more confidence in your gift. If my story could encourage or inspire anyone I hope they see that their vision is worth the investment. It’s worth the late nights and sacrifices. I hope that Your scribe (business name) helps you to see that your story is worth reading.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The breakfast loft for brunch Downtown to visit Parker’s Alley, it has multiple bars restaurants and close to my favorite store The LipBar! I love museums so the DIA is a must see. During the summer campus Martius sets up a movie theatre, yoga classes that are always great weekend activities. Because I like being by the water we would also go see the river walk and Belle Isle.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ll dedicate this to New Hope, where they first saw my knack for writing and ministry. They were the first to pour into those gifts! Thank you for believing in me.
