We had the good fortune of connecting with Angelina Arnold and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angelina, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
After my first job, I have realized that my true passion is to help others. Since starting my business, I have been given the chance to help people in many more ways than before. Whether someone is in a difficult situation or is having a bad day, knowing that I could make a positive difference really brings me joy.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

As Within Beauty offers a wide range of beauty services from lash extensions, waxes, to hair services and permanent makeup. Although I was able to help others feel more confident about their appearance, I wished to make a deeper change for each client. Starting in 2023, I expanded my services to not only offer external enhancements, but internal as well. I have since become a certified reiki healer, which allows me to help others heal and better themselves from within through energy work.

Throughout my years, I have found that remaining positive and adaptable has gotten me through the many challenges that an entrepreneur will face. From financial struggles to escaping self doubt, reminding myself that I was able to exercise my passion as a career has helped me keep myself grounded. As I look back to where I was when I first started in comparison to where I am now, the progress itself keeps me motivated.

I want the world to know that beauty is more than skin deep. To truly feel better overall and about yourself, the work must start from within.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Downtown Grand Rapids is always the place to start! From dining, entertainment, to outdoor activities, the downtown area is filled with options. Depending on the season, the events will change which always keeps things interesting. For food, I am a huge sushi fan so my go to spots are Nagoya Sushi and Maru.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to give a shoutout Trina Tran and her foodie page @trilliondollareats. Her creativeness inspires me to go outside my comfort zone and try new things. She has always been a great friend who I can depend on to hold me accountable as we share our goals.
