Meet Kiara Patterson | Reiki Master and Teacher

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kiara Patterson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kiara, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

Honestly, I feel like this business came to me! I never believed in energy healing, oracle cards, or natural healing, it was all hocus pocus, weird and I didn’t want any part. But when my mental health declined and medication didn’t work for me. I began to seek other ways to manage my anxiety and depression. I felt overwhelmed and stressed daily until I found reiki. Reiki is energy healing, that brings your mind and body to a space of peace and relaxation. You are guided to slow down and intentionally rest, outside of sleep. After a session, there is clarity, less pain, and feelings of relief. Once I saw the impact reiki had on my daily life, I knew I had to share it with others.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
When I first learned about reiki, I was nervous about energy healing, and all of the accessories that included crystal healing, and things like sound healing. It all made me very nervous, so I understand that reiki is something different that we are not used to.
Reiki by Ki enjoys sharing new methods to heal naturally. I utilize various healing modalities to support my reiki healing techniques. I accept all wisdom from previous traditions, and help cultivate a space of rest and relaxation to encourage high vibrational healing which helps the mind, body, and soul.

It was not easy to get where I am today, It took a lot of healing, trial and error, faith and trust. Some days I’m still unclear about which way to turn. I’m human and not perfect, so I understand the level of difficulty it takes to be consistent and disciplined. I’m learning to keep going and never give up, even when you fall off because it’s not about overcoming the challenges, it’s about going through them, feeling them, learning from them, and growing from them. The world needs to know that Reiki by Ki is a business for the community to learn how to heal holistically, which could impact crime rates, the educational system, family dynamics, and much more.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

I really love living near the metro airport because you can get to a bunch of cities when you’re close to the expressway. We would start our day with gratitude and head to the local planet fitness for some exercise. Then prepare to get some vegan breakfast from Honest John’s or Bobcat Bonnie’s (any location, but especially on the weekend). Some art viewing at the DÍA or just drown in the vast art scene Detroit has to offer. Maybe make a rug at Chee in Wonderland or work out with the bad girls at Badgirl Fitness in Redford. Lunch is deliciously vegan with Torminas in Canton, or at home around the fire pit. We could explore downtown Detroit get views of the river from the river walk enjoy Campus Martius or the Monroe midway. We would have to include skatin’ station in Canton or Riverside Arena in Livonia to enjoy some skating. I love buying new candles, so I would have to go to Candles R Us in Detroit, and while I’m in the city hit Barcade for some fun.

If it’s summer on Wednesday we will be at Yin night at the spirit plaza for yoga and good vibes. I’m always open to just trying new places in any of the metro Detroit cities.

Absolutely! The owner of Peridot Health and Wellness in Canton,MI. Ms. Leigha!!! She is a huge part of my success, because I would not be in Canton without her. She has helped me out so much with the growth and stability of my business, that I cannot tell my story without speaking very highly of her! After a session with me, she realized my potential and invested in me. Which is why Reiki by Ki calls Canton Home today
