We had the good fortune of connecting with Cheyenne Bracy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cheyenne, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to create a safe space for women who needed to feel free to express themselves. Also, wanted to have events that actually helped women with mental, physical and emotional support.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Blue Essence Entertainment LLC is an entertainment business that creates events for women’s mental ,physical and emotional heath while also creating sisterhood environments. My vision was to create a safe space for women so that they can feel like they belong in life. Often times being a mother or having a career can become overwhelming at times. I wanted to create events that help with goals and aspirations of other women entrepreneurs and creatives. Also, being able to bond with other women and letting your hair down to have some fun. My business partners and I work really hard on creating events that help motivate the everyday woman to live out their purpose!

Shout out to Tanisha Gill and Jaye Bar for believing in my vision and supporting my creative talented. I wouldn’t have made it without these two. They’re very ambitious and innovative when it comes to our event planning for our women events.

Being a adopted child and growing up with my grandparents, I learned about having a voice and being responsible for my own life. I always knew that I had visions and that whatever I do would help my community and have a purpose.

I also have a passion for the youth. I created another small business called Being A Creative LLC. This particular business would help bring the performers arts back into schools and help mold our youth into amazing leaders and creatives as well.
We offer Dance, Theater, Music and Sewing classes.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite bar is The Locker Room on Livernos. The Fashion District of Detroit. The steak bites and drinks are so top tier.
I would visit Eastern Market on Saturday to support some of the small black businesses.

My favorite coffee shop would be The congregation. Great vibes and amazing coffee and small plate foods.

Then a quick exercises class with George at The Vibe Ride in Downtown Detroit

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to dedicate my shout out to my beautiful daughters, my boyfriend Brandon and my business partners Jaye and Tanisha. Thanks for pushing me to my fullest potential and being bothered with all of creative ideas. It’s takes a village to help entrepreneurs as well and they’re my village!
