We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Aquilina and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, how do you think about risk?
I think most of the things worth having take risk to gain. All of the good things in life are on the other side of it and I’m okay with taking a chance as long as it’s calculated; I’ve weighed the good and the bad and I have a complete idea whether it’s worth it or not, because I take a bird’s eye view approach to all things.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
At the moment, I’m researching how to create laundry soap, wool dryer balls, and scent beads using only plant-based ingredients. I’m excited to create a product that correlates with cleaning and is useful to the clientele we serve. The goal is to have the products easily available online through Dust to Glory’s Client Hub. We’ll hand deliver these products to our clients during their next cleaning visit or give the option to have the items shipped.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There are so many fantastic places to eat, drink, and have a good time at in the Howell and Brighton area. It’s always relaxing to visit Island Lake Recreation Area and take a stroll through the lantern-lit trail in the winter. After a stop there, you can swing into Lu and Carl’s in downtown Brighton for a cold drink and lunch. In the Summer, the kids love to get Melon ice cream from the Howell Melon Fest. And all the best sticky-fingered carnival food to eat at your hearts content can be found at the Michigan Challenge Balloon Fest in Howell.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I can’t possibly thank my family enough for taking this crazy ride of entrepreneurship with me! They’re my muse. The very reason I wake up and work hard for better tomorrows. Without their love and support, I know, without a doubt, I wouldn’t have made it this far. Their deep-rooted belief in me keeps me going and their encouragement continues to appear when I need it the most. I also owe a large thank you to my mom, because if she hadn’t of equipped me with self-confidence and the ability to trust myself, I don’t think I would have been strong enough to handle the ups and downs of business ownership.
