Meet Stacey ` Feeley | Co-Founder and President

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacey ` Feeley and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stacey `, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
When GoSili was formed almost 2 decades ago, it was built on the notion that we wanted to create a better, cleaner and more sustainable world for our children. While GoSili provides an alternative to single use plastics, the company’s mission is to create a cultural shift in consumer habits that lead to true sustainable change within society.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets GoSili apart from its competitors is our dedication to the company mission. It is our biggest asset to
lead with a purpose and mission to reduce waste rather than always focus on the bottom line. What that has taught us over the years is that when the markets change or crash or go flat, it’s much easier to stay the course of the mission rather than trying to pivot to what is on trend or what is needed in that moment. Because the mission never changes, it’s easier to adapt to those things changing around us and create meaningful solutions always backed by the mission of the company. Because part of this mission is to create a change in consumer habits related to disposable goods and a convenience culture, we take great efforts to design products that are easy to use, easy to clean, easy to make a switch to…and sometimes that means simple, easy to use designs are also the hardest to execute when making them. Staying true to that focus can at times be hard, but ultimately what makes GoSili great!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Northern Michigan is a place like no other! When I left Los Angeles 12 years ago, no one quite understood why my husband and I chose to pick up and move to Michigan. We moved our family to Traverse City, MI and never looked back! The small town atmosphere is filled with an incredible community, set on the bluest of waters that continues to bring people and business’s from all over the world into it’s thriving region. The area is known for its foodie culture and there are so many amazing places to check out. Some of our favorite places to take friends and family are The Good Bowl for amazing Vietnamese, Farm Club for local fresh food in an incredible outdoor setting, Hexenbelle for the best coffee and Levantine cuisine, Millie and Pepper for the best crepes in town and Stella’s for an Italian night out. The wineries are also stunning on the Old Mission Peninsula. We like to start at the tip of the Peninsula and hike around the area, then hit the Old Mission General Store (trust me, you’re in for a treat) then do a few wine tastings at Bower’s Harbor, Bonobo and Brys Estates. There is so much to do in the area set amongst some of the most beautiful backdrops you’ve ever seen. An excursion out on the bay followed by an exquisite sunset is a must!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to Co-Founder, Giuliana Schwab. We get asked all the time about our friendship and how we were able to remain such close friends while launching and running a business. The mad respect we have for one another and what we each bring to the table is what makes the friendship and business work. The support, encouragement and dedication to the friendship is what makes the business successful. I could not tackle this journey without her!
