Meet Danni Little | Author, creator, fiber art enthusiast.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Danni Little and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Danni, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I just did it! I’ve been writing & creating since I was in elementary school.. so I don’t really think I saw it as a business but more so I’ve always saw it as me just being me. My art is a part of me. Creating new and beautiful works that touch other peoples hearts is what makes me happy.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m most proud of my handmade poetry books.. the process is long but seeing how beautiful they turn out & how much people love them is so rewarding. I wrote the book.. died the pages with the blood of beets, stained them with tea & then burned them. The writing is very relatable & helps people understand that they are not alone. I’d like to think of it as a healing book.. It challenges touchy subjects & allows the reader to just feel. It’s honest & raw.. no sugarcoating. I believe we are all human.. and we feel things for a reason. We need to be able to acknowledge our shortcomings & find ways to be better. I think my books inspire that.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We would definitely go down to the Dequindre Cut & ride bikes to the water & then people watch.
Two birds has pop up cooks there sometimes, it’s always nice trying new food.
Other than that.. I like most of the restaurants in the city .. I like to switch it up. My favorite restaurant is in Ferndale. Howe’s Bayou, I love their crawfish etouffee.
Take a trip up to the DIA or to a poetry open mic or out for Karaoke.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
