We had the good fortune of connecting with Victoria Lynn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Victoria, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My business and what I provide is something that was started from a foundation of understanding the missing pieces and holes in the market that I knew I could fill. As a reader first and foremost, I found so many gaps in the fiction that was offered. The market is built to create boxes and copy, paste, repeat formulas that leave readers wanting something more, while also looking for books that have healthy role models and are without the smut and spice that is prevalent.

I noticed that there was an entire group of people being completely ignored and struggling to find something to read that hit the spot and met their criteria for a good book. I was one of those people so I decided to write what I knew I and other’s wanted to read.

This then grew into helping the authors like me who have something special and unique get their books out into the world when other publishers might not be interested.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve always been a creative artist. Even when working the usual 9-5 jobs, I was coming home and pouring my heart and soul into the next book I was writing and struggling to get my small business off the ground. Finding what works for me and what felt like my true calling took a while, but as I settled into the areas where I felt the Lord’s guidance and blessing in my gifts, I knew I had found the sweet spot. It was a special moment when some of my interests all started to line up into a cohesive whole that finally started to work together.

It was a lot of hard work and will be much more to come, but I’m proud to have taken the leap into full time entrepreneurship and poured my heart and soul into something that I believe in and that fuels me with passion and purpose.

My heart is to create fiction that is epic and fascinating, but that also inspires and leaves the reader reaching for something higher and deeper, and filled with hope. There is so much struggle and confusion in the world, so being able to write stories that are entertaining, but are also filled with encouragement and hopefully speak life to weary hearts is what keeps me going each day. Being that type of author, it has delighted me to be able to spin that vision off into it’s own business and help other authors who feel the same reach their goals and get their books out into the world.

It’s been a perfect place to combine many of my interests, from art, editing, graphic design, administration, leadership and teaching all into one avenue that is pouring into authors from the next generation and giving them the tools they need to succeed so that they don’t have to struggle the way I did.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
ALWAYS THE LAKE. I love taking people to the beach. It’s my happy place. If I had an entire week to spend with someone, I would for sure be taking them on the scenic route along Lake Michigan, further north to some of my favorite beachside towns in Ludington, Sleeping Bear, Glen Arbor and Manistee. I would have to take them to Cherry Republic and The Cottage Bookstore across the street so that we could pick out our next read to enjoy as we spend the day on the water.

I’d also probably take them downtown Holland to enjoy the farmers market, eat sushi at Miso Sushi and walk the quaint streets. And if it’s summer, I might even take them to pick whatever local fruit is in season at the time.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My best friend and business partner, Livy Lynn Jarmusch has been a huge inspiration to me and has encouraged me in all the areas where I needed it most. Having someone in my corner who is cheering me on and partnering with me in a vision I have for our company has fueled me to keep going and kept the ideas and juices flowing as we strive to meet the needs of our clients and readers.
