We had the good fortune of connecting with Tianna Duncan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tianna, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
In my industry there is a lot of competition but no one’s work or technique is the same.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I take pride in my work. I’ve always had a passion for nails. Nails have always been a way for me to express myself and I enjoy creating beautiful sets. I have education and stay up to date with trends and nail techniques. As a kid I loved watching nail art videos and I would recreate them. I was always good at polishing and designs. In highschool one of my friends Mom was a Nailtech and she started doing my nails and I was in love she also gave me a lot of knowledge on cleanliness of salons and how they should be and he work was phenomenal. I knew I wanted to be a Nailtech because I had a passion for nails and I love getting my nails done. Through my nail journey I have wanted to completely give up but I always pick back up.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite spot is xoxo hookah lounge in Dearborn their food is good and affordable and so is the hookah. The decor is pretty and it’s a chill vibe.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shout out my family and friends. Most people say or can agree that most family don’t support their business but it was the opposite for me. Without my family and friends I wouldn’t have been able to practice or even put out any work to attract more clientele. My Mother always motivates me to keep going and work on perfecting my craft.
