Hi Malayasia, is there something you can share with us that those outside of the industry might not be aware of?
One aspect of the health and beauty industry that is often overlooked by outsiders is the mental strain associated with keeping up with the latest trends. The rapid advancements in technology have introduced a constant stream of new products and treatments, creating a pressure to continuously update one’s knowledge and Arsenl of products. From laser treatments and serums to foundations, lotions, and sculpting tools, the industry is constantly pushing new “must-haves.” Furthermore, the rise of cosmetic surgeries and body modification trends, such as BBLs, skinny BBLs, corsets, and rib removal, adds to the pressure to conform to ever-changing beauty standards.

At MVP Beauty, we believe that true beauty lies in embracing and loving our bodies as they are. Our mission is to promote self-love and encourage individuals to care for their bodies in a healthy, natural, and organic way. We focus on enhancing natural features and promoting overall well-being, rather than chasing fleeting trends that can be detrimental to physical and mental health.

The journey this far has been arduous, encompassing a range of highs, lows, challenges, and periods of stagnation. A significant hurdle I am currently navigating is securing financial funding. Additionally, the absence of a competent team hinders MVPs progress. My background in management underscores the pivotal role of teamwork in ensuring smooth business operations. Presently, the lack of an appropriate team has resulted in a plateau, yet I am optimistic that the substantial efforts invested in this rebranding endeavor will yield positive outcomes in the near future.

Our dedication is evident in our meticulous selection of eco-friendly, organic, and recycled products. By prioritizing sustainability and quality, we aspire to make a positive impact on both our valued customers and the environment.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend visiting me in Michigan for the first time the first place I would probably take them is somewhere very local to me in downtown Plymouth. Wevwould we would walk around, probably grab some pizza from the pizza spot or we would maybe go to one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Plymouth which is Campari’s. Next day in town after we got a chance to rest definitely take them to downtown Detroit probably hit up somewhere like sexy steak then go dancing at Deluxe flux or the Mix the next day if we’re still downtown definitely have them see Belle Isle and all the beauty and wonder that’s there. If they’re staying for a week then I got to take them up north to one of my favorite cities which is Traverse City. Have them see the great lakes and get some fudge. Before my friend left I would make sure that they had been to a coney island, had shawarma, and got authentic Mexican food from southwest Detroit.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my mother, Shanda Patterson, the esteemed owner of Paraclete Home Healthcare. Witnessing her unwavering dedication and remarkable success in establishing her own home healthcare business served as a profound inspiration for me to embark on my own entrepreneurial journey. Her determination, infectious enthusiasm, and passion for her work ignited a spark within me, fueling my drive and ambition to pursue my own business endeavors.

Without her invaluable support, extensive knowledge, and encouragement, none of my accomplishments would have been possible. I acknowledge that I might still be confined to a mundane nine-to-five corporate job, devoid of fulfillment and yearning for the courage to realize my entrepreneurial aspirations. However, my mother’s belief in my potential and her encouragement empowered me to overcome my fears and embrace the path of entrepreneurship.

For this transformative impact on my life and career, I extend my deepest gratitude to my mother. Her unwavering support and belief in my abilities have been instrumental in shaping my professional journey, and I am eternally grateful for her presence in my life.
