Meet Kenny Thomas | Team leader / owner of Pitaway downtown Ann Arbor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kenny Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kenny, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m Chaldean /american , born and raised in Michigan. I come from a family of hard working immigrants, who owned grocery stores in Detroit, and at a young age was taught responsibility and hard work. I was also taught to help and give back to community

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My pitaway journey ,started two years ago and with hard work and dedication, I am owener and operator of 500 east Williams Ann Arbor 48104 . I am extremely passionate about what I do and love serving people and making them happy.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Love going out on the boat and jet skiing at cass Lake. It’s one of the lakes that I grew up on also love visiting mom and Pop places to eat ,like Louie’s in Hazel Park. Best Deep dish pizza around . Nice backyard bonfires with barbecue is always a great time

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother and father, have always taught me to be honest, loving and caring, even when things are not going right, they would always tell me things will get better , and stay positive and upbeat no matter what. My partner and friend Brandon Bahoura who started Pitaway 15 years ago , has been a true mentor and friend. It’s amazing how Pitaway stared from one store and now we are at 42 locations open and 58 more coming soon.
