We had the good fortune of connecting with Dan Stowell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dan, what principle do you value most?
I’ve always believed in karma and live by doing the right thing—not just for good fortune but because I have a moral responsibility to be and do good. Results matter, but some things are beyond our control, and our intentions and how we handle misfortune are what matter most.

My deep sense of empathy and doing the right thing stems from growing up with an alcoholic father and being diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, which resulted in having my entire colon removed four days after graduating high school.

It’s our duty to do the right thing to move society forward, and it’s a core value in my personal life and company culture. When in doubt, do the right thing!

What should our readers know about your business?
Straight out of the gate, I learned from entrepreneurship and life that things always require more than you think. It’s not a smooth ride. There are ups and downs, and a new curve ball is thrown every day. But you are the captain of your ship and have creative control of your business and future, and that is an amazing opportunity worth taking a risk!

My first and parent company, Nova Fusion, started as a blog sharing the first four years of my recovery journey with Ulcerative Colitis. I then started sharing the helpful health and mindset advice that was impacting my life from a place of empathy and doing the right thing.

From there, I launched a podcast called EMG Transformations. EMG stands for Experiences + Mindset = Growth and became my life philosophy during my healing journey. I am grateful to have featured and formed relationships with top wellness and mindset experts, including Markus Kaulius, Dr. Tyler Panzner, Micah and Diana Lacerte, Kelly Siegel, and Amberly Lago.

Most recently, I launched my newest company, NF Media Agency, which helps Michigan businesses reach more customers and make more sales through social media marketing.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m a chill guy and prefer simple nature, but I would visit downtown Detroit to catch a Pistons game, walk around the city, and swing by one of my favorite restaurants in West Dearborn, Tiliani. Ann Arbor is another go-to area with lots of events, restaurants, and a nice farmers market. If you’re visiting for the week, we have to plan a trip to Lake Michigan and the upper peninsula to experience the great outdoors of Pure Michigan!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Thank you to my mom and grandpa for always being by my side to love and support me, especially when I wasn’t there for myself.
