Meet Raine Corral | Producer & Nusonics Co-Founder/owner, curator,

We had the good fortune of connecting with Raine Corral and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Raine, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The people and energy I choose to surround myself with is huge to what I’ve been able to accomplish. If you are in the wrong environment, the seed you plant will not grow. It is crucial to be in a place where your ideas can really flourish. It is easier said than done though. Just staying consistent and being organized alone does a lot too.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Currently I produce only rap music. But recently, my fellow co-founder of our producer group Nusonics; shogun, has introduced me into making techno and house music, which i’ve grown to love a lot and will continue to work on that in the near future. A lot of my music I produce is driven by 2010s/2020s era Detroit rap. I like to implement sounds that remind me of the music I grew up on too, like Van Halen and Def Leppard. A lot of 80s synth stuff and power ballads. My biggest lesson I’ve learned along the way has been to just trust my ideas and not be afraid to make mistakes. I grew up heavily inspired by Odd Future and other music/creative groups appearing around that time too. It helped me believe and trust I could one day inspire people from my music and whatever other ideas that come with making it. I want to inspire others to be collaborative and trust their ideas at any level big or small.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well I would first take them to Comerica Park to watch a Tigers game. Great place to hangout outside and enjoy sports . Also there is a lot of different types of food in the city. I really enjoy this spot called Flowers of Vietnam, got to try the caramelized chicken wings. Boostan Cafe in Hamtramck is fire too. And if you’re into outdoors stuff about 40 min away from the city is Pine Knob, a great ski hill and amphitheater I grew up going to.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to shout out my mom and grandfather for being the ones who taught me to follow my dreams never give up, and showing me all of the music they listened to growing up. The music I heard inspired me to dive into other genres and eventually start making beats. Big shout out to Joseph Mcfashion, 4746 global, and 4sho magazine too. I appreciate everything. And shout out to the New Detroit homies for paving a way and creating new inspiration. Shout out the godfathers, 313 mafia, Overdog, and Mansion mob too!
