Meet Robert Duff Jr

We had the good fortune of connecting with Robert Duff Jr and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Robert, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
One of the most important things I’ve done as a parent in terms of the impact on my children is to dedicate time to eating healthy and exercising most days of the week. Our world as a whole has become more focused on fast meals, sedentary jobs, and overall lack of activity, especially compared to our grand parents.
The foods flooding our social media and ads are becoming less and less real, relying on artificial ingredients to make them taste better and last longer on the shelves.
That is why my wife, Olivia and I have been determined to bring our kids into the gym where I work and show them that its both a fun and essential part of a healthy life, along with including them in picking out plants for our garden, allowing them to help raise our chickens, and introduce them to foraging and fishing to harvest whole, natural foods.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart from others in my field is I truly want to get to know where you are from the start. It’s easy to want to jump the gun and throw too much at clients at once. In a perfect world, this would help them reach their goals faster. But if a client can’t comply to the laundry list of tasks you give them, they’re going to feel stuck and potentially move backwards.
Knowing where you are, and consistently trying to improve by 1% each day is the secret to long term success and to avoid burnout

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A week in Port Huron? Easy
First we’d checkout Cutting Edge, the PREMIERE Fitness Facility of the Blue Water Area
Next we’d go walleye fishing on the St. Clair River ( some of the BEST fishing in the state )
Then we’d checkout the Wrigley Center for some drinks and Fowling
After that it would be off to play some Disc Golf at Columbus County Park, a Professional Grade Course

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d have to spread the shoutout to my entire family and coaches I’ve had over my span of 10 years playing both Football and Track from 7th Grade through College
My family showed me the value in creating and maintaining a garden, raising livestock for sustenance, and fishing and hunting for a main source of food. My Gramma Nancy and Great Aunt Roberta were also a huge part of my passion in cooking and preparing these foods
My coaches showed both how, and how not to coach to reach success. I had just as many motivating coaches as I had DE-motivating coaches. So kudos to them for helping me learn how to help encourage individuals differently to help them succeed.
A bonus shoutout goes out to Marcus Munger at Munger Physical Therapy for helping me find my niche and how to dive deeper into my craft to help truly change clients lives
