We had the good fortune of connecting with Jordan Stiverson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jordan, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Our mission at 2nGage focuses on supporting local business and encouraging people in our community to shop local. Our objective is to help small businesses thrive in an environment where it’s very hard to compete with the big box companies. We strive to help our community to thrive through our comprehensive marketing services. We work tirelessly to drive business growth, increase revenue, and take our client’s businesses to heights they didn’t believe were possible. When one member of our community succeeds, we all succeed.

What should our readers know about your business?
2nGage is different from our competitors in the quality of the service we provide. We guarantee a 24-hour turn around on communications from our clients, and we don’t do service tickets – we communicate directly, typically with emails and personal phone calls, so their needs are addressed quickly. Our agency doesn’t do pressure – we let our reputation speak for itself. When we meet with potential clients, we take the time to evaluate all aspects of their marketing so that we are prepared to discuss strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities. With this approach, they can see how our services will be beneficial to them.

Our style is not cookie-cutter. Our agency does have preset packages to make it easier for clients to decide what’s best for their business. However, we also provide customized marketing plans that are tailored specifically to the needs of our clients rather than demanding they select services that won’t be beneficial to them or that they’re not ready for. Our team offers suggestions on what solutions to use and when to use them. We explain marketing in a way that someone without the expertise we have will understand instead of using lingo and jargon specific to the industry that will leave them confused. 2nGage works hand-in-glove with our clients to make sure the work we deliver is exactly to their expectations. Data-driven insights is delivered to our clients to demonstrate the ROI and results we’re achieving, cross-referencing their revenue changes with the insights we’re seeing, so that we can make constant tweaks and adjustments to our marketing strategy. We don’t deliver AI driven reports, and we don’t use AI to manage our strategy. Our company uses the industry expertise we’ve achieved to determine our course of action. We set ourselves apart by intentionally providing a level of service that our competitors don’t offer.

To get our business where it is today, we’ve worked hard to set ourselves apart from our competition. It wasn’t easy to get here, however. The industry is very competitive. We generate many leads through word-of-mouth from satisfied clients and then we let our work speak for itself. Our team works hard to demonstrate how we’re different from our competitors by offering free, no pressure consultations – nobody likes pressure. Overcoming industry challenges requires diligence and thick skin. In sales, you will hear no – again and again. We don’t get discouraged when a prospect is not interested. Again, we let our work speak for itself but stay in communication without being pushy. Selling marketing services in an oversaturated market is tough — especially when small businesses are bombarded with promises that don’t deliver. 2nGage always over-delivers.

I focus on relationships first, not sales. I’ve learned throughout my history with 2nGage that building personal connections with people in our community allows us to show what we’re really about and differentiate ourselves from other agencies. Our reputation is our brand, and the relationships we build show that we’re committed to the success of our local businesses and business owners.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day 1:
o Food at Crow’s Nest – the best place around for brunch.
o Walk the Kalamazoo Mall – it’s not a standard shopping mall, but a pedestrian mall with local small businesses.
o Go to a baseball game at the Kalamazoo Growlers.
o Dinner & Drinks at Principle Food & Drinks. They have unique craft cocktails, and a seasonal menu of fantastic food.

Day 2:
o Coffee at WaterStreet Coffee Joint. Ethically sourced beans and high-quality ingredients. The best coffee I’ve ever had.
o Tour and tastings at Bell’s Brewery. A local company, but a Midwest icon. You can tour the facility and learn about the process of brewing delicious craft beers.
o Then we brewery hop. Kalamazoo more breweries than I can count, each with their own unique craft beers.

Day 3:
o Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. This is a small museum but has a great collection of rotating exhibits.
o Explore the Air Zoo. Part museum, part interactive science center. You have to ride the flight simulator.
o Check out a live show at the State Theatre. They host concerts, comedy shows and plays.

Day 4:
o Hike the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail – stunning nature views without leaving town.
o Check out Bronson Park. Located in the center of town, there’s always something exciting going on.
o Find some ice cream from one of the local shops that sell Plainwell Ice Cream, a local creamery, famed for their amazing ice cream.

Day 5:
o Imagine it’s fall. Michigan is beautiful this time of year, and there’s always something to do. Let’s go to Gull Meadow Farms or VerHage Fruit Farms. We’ll apple pick, go for a hayride, explore a corn maze, shop for awesome fall décor, and pick out our pumpkins.
o Visit the Gilmore Car Museum – a local showcase of classic and rare cars.
o Progressive dinner: we’ll start with apps and a great selection of tequila at Roca, a gourmet dinner at Brick & Brine, cocktails at Crafted Copper, and end the night with arcade games at LFG.

Day 6:
o Spend the day on one of the local beaches, or head over to South Haven and enjoy a day on Lake Michigan.
o A relaxing Italian dinner at Martini’s. Awesome pizza out on the patio under low string lighting.

Day 7:
o Visit Kalamazoo Candle Company to make our own scented candles.
o Create our own perfume, cologne, or hand sanitizer at The Aroma Labs.
