Meet Alex Adele King | Certified Women’s Health Nutritionist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alex Adele King and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alex Adele, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The idea of starting my own business was born from my own struggles with women’s health. I had emergency surgery at the age of 13 to remove a ruptured cyst that was twisting my ovary. After that I was told I had to be on hormonal birth control to solve all my hormonal woes. I never had proper education on periods, women’s health, the birth control pill or any other women’s health issue. After many years of suffering with extremely painful, heavy periods – missing school, social events, work, birthdays, weddings, you name it – I decided to further my education and study women’s health. Now, my goal is to educate women, giving them all the tools to know and understand what’s happening. Help them understand that painful periods, intense mood swings, acne and migraines are not normal and we don’t have to suffer through this every month time and time again.
Starting my own business hasn’t been easy by any means but it’s been wildly rewarding.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
After studying to be a dietitian, I studied holistic nutrition, oncology and women’s health, so I provide a unique mix of science-based and holistic practices to my clients.
Most days aren’t easy, to get to where I am today it took a lot of sacrifice, consistency, grit, determination, passion and community.
There’s only one way to overcome challenges: go right through them. You’ll learn, grow and become better.
I’ve learned many MANY lessons along the way but some that have stuck with me:
-There’s no growth in your comfort zone and no comfort in your growth zone (put yourself out there, even if it scares you)
-If you don’t ask, you’ll never receive (jobs, friendships, opportunities, sponsorships, clients, etc.)
-There’s only one you. Even if someone has the same idea or business, people will want to work with you for YOU
I want the world to know that they no longer have to feel dismissed, overwhelmed by symptoms and confused by all the mixed messaged when it comes to women’s health. Whether you’re struggling with endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, PCOS, adenomyosis or infertility, I want you to feel empowered on your healing journey. I want you to know that there are many options available that don’t include you “suffering through it”
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
