Meet Alora Rachelle | Photographer Business Strategist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alora Rachelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alora, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
My balance has shifted many times since my business started. The first time was because I had my daughter after my business really took off. I realized things were out of control and that my business was essentially running me. Not the other way around. So I started to seek systems & outsourcing and was able to create an ideal working schedule that allowed me to be a SAHM working mom.
Now, six years later, I have to say that I mastered the ability to systemize my business, and get back time, while also having a life. You can really have it all, you just have to know how to manage your time.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started off as a wedding photographer and was able to 10x my business in just two years. From $10k to $100k a year. It has been a wild ride of ups and downs, new friendships formed and new business ventures to be had. I learned so much in the 12 years I spent as a photographer.
Now, I am teaching photographers everything I know so they can take the shortcut to success and get results. It doesn’t have to be a long road of trial and error if you have a mentor on your side. I decided to become the mentor I wish I had and that is what fuels my business. My students inside my program, The Wedding CEO, have gone on and made six figures like I did and it feels like I am giving back.
There’s nothing more exciting than to leave a legacy behind by making a difference and helping people create a career and a name for themselves. Being a successful wedding photographer always seemed like an unattainable dream to me.
I would wish so many times that it would just happen. Many people in my life said no one would ever pay $10k for a wedding photographer. And I’m glad to show them, they were wrong
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Detroit is definitely the hangout spot for brunch, cafes, and exquisite dining. If someone was visiting my favorite city, I would tell them to head to Dime Store and order the duck confit. It’s sweet, spicy, and most of all delicious. Then for lunch (if you have room) split a mushroom pizza at Mad Nice. Then head over to Trinosophes or The Red Hook Detroit for some comfy vibes and coffee. I used to work here in my spare time.
Afterward, I would head to the Detroit Public Library. There is a mural on the top floor in the largest room that is incredible to see. The buildings in Detroit alone are worth the visit. It reminds me of Paris which makes me love it even more. Another building that’s incredible to explore is the Fisher Theatre. There is also beauty on the top floor if you take the elevator or the stairs all the way up.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shout-out to my little family. My husband is the reason I am able to do this freely without all the unwanted pressure that I give myself. He believes in me and supports my wild dreams. And my two kids for being the reason I finally stopped hustling and got my priorities in check. I love them so much and I’m thankful.
