Meet Angela Gehl | Intuitive Life Coach & Grief Counsellor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Angela Gehl and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Angela, what do you attribute your success to?
When I started my coaching business fifteen years ago I thought about what I was ultimately trying to accomplish. My goal was and still is to have each and every person who sits across from me to feel better when they came in. Its a simple mission statement but it ultimately is the reason for the success of my brand. Whether people come in for a session to gain clarity and direction into situations in their life or maybe I am helping them navigate grief or another powerful emotion the reason behind the session remains the same. If I can help that client feel better whether it be more empowered, at peace, hopeful, you name it… it will be a successful session. People want to feel good and if you give that to them your business will flourish.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business has evolved as I have over the past 15 years. It started out as sessions for indivduals who needed direction and help navigating grief and loss. I have also focused on continuing education in psychology and alternative healing modalities to better serve my cleints.
My sessions became well known for being transformational and the right people took notice. I started working with Indigenous Communities through out Saskatchewan working with their community members helping them through loss and helping them work through the effects of generational trauma and the affects of Residential Schools and addiction. Now I have a world wide cleint base that has regular clients from all walks of life on every continent in the world. I have also branched out and started consulting with law enforcement agencies profiling and consulting on cold cases.
The biggest lesson for me was to give myself the same compassion, care and attention that I give to my clients. I am my own worst critic and I have such high expectations for myself that I can get in my own way.
The biggest lesson for me is to not get focused on what you haven’t done and just stay present.
The one thing I want the world to know about me would be that I truly have each clients best interests at heart. I treat each person with kindness, respect and care as if they were someone special in my own life. I feel that has set me apart from others in my industry because that care and authenticity comes through in my sessions.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am fortunate to being new to Michigan and so I have been able to explore and try a lot of local spots for the first time. I have loved exploring Ann Arbor, Saline and Detriot. Some of my favourite spots include Salt Springs Brewery and Mac’s Acadian Seafood Shack in Saline. They both have a great selection of cocktails and beer as well as a great menu and outside patio for relaxing on a summer day. A visit to Zingerman’s Deli is a must for anyone who has never been to Ann Arbor.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wouldn’t have started my business if it weren’t for my children. I was newly separated and needing to find a way to support my three children and have the flexibility to still be present in their lives. I have always only had office hours during regular school day hours so I could do all of the pick ups and drop offs and keep their lives as normal as possible. My children forced me to overcome my shyness and really put myself out there. If they didn’t depend on me I wouldn’t have had the courage to push through and keep going even when things got tough or I felt overwhelmed and wanted to quit.
