We had the good fortune of connecting with Autumn Luciano and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Autumn, what do you want people to remember about you?
I want to be well known enough that I will be found in some obscure book about photography and art in an old bookstore that someday a teenager will pickup 50-100 years from now and list me as one of their influences for their next twenty years or so.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I feel like beyond my style, which I try to be very atmospheric, painterly, soft, and sometimes a little surreal; my biggest flex is making the experience as immersive as possible. Every shoot includes access to a ton of stylized sets, an extensive size-inclusive wardrobe, professional hair and makeup styling, and pose coaching. The experience is catered for any age, size, experience in front of the camera (or lack of), and walk of life.

I love showing my clients how photogenic and beautiful they really are, and making the whole experience feel fun and luxurious while remaining simple to do.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Breakfast at Golden Harvest, antiquing and thrifting across the city, followed by a night at Tease-a-gogo, a burlesque variety show I founded over a decade ago that my friend and studio stylist now produces.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Shout out to my 11th great grandfather Germain Pilon, who was a famous French sculpture who’s work is in the Louvre. Not only is his work an inspiration, discovering that I’m his direct descendant has given the foundation that art is in my blood.
