We had the good fortune of connecting with Black Lion Society and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Black, what inspires you?
We’re inspired by good eating habits as it has a better impact on overall health. We’re also inspired by music as well as family because both play a key role in the reason why we do what we do as music artist.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We are Black Lion Society, Detroit’s very own Hip Hop Duo… We have a very different approach to music… We try to inspire by creating feel good music to pull people back to the dance floor… High Frequency music so our culture can get back in the habit of socializing with one another instead of on the internet… We get joy from entertaining people and watching them celebrate our art while we are on stage… This year alone we’ve traveled between 2 countries doing 28 live performances… Of course hard work pays off but I think we are able to maintain our professionalism because we actually love what we do… Whether touching one person or several thousand we just genuinely love creating for the people to embrace the craft… By no means was it easy!!! A lot of blood, sweat, and tears was poured into this movement… Staying the course and never giving up has been the key to overcome the challenges… Learn new methods to do tasks and understanding that to survive you have to change with the times… The biggest lesson would have to be, no one will work harder than you for you… We had to stop putting our destiny in other peoples hands and start moving this boat on our own… In business talent alone doesn’t make you successful you have to invest in your dream to make it come full circle… We want the world to know we gave them the best version of us every time you seen us… No Matter if it was our Merchandise or the music, we aim to give you the very best quality there is… We want the supporters to help write our story… Push us to every corner on Gods green earth…

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Right Now!!! We can stay right here in Detroit city… We have some of the best restaurants to dine… A couple spots to hit would be Jo-Jo’s Shake Bar, Grey Ghost Bar, Fixins, Frita Batidos Detroit,Trap Vegan, and the Butcher Grill to name a few… Might hit Floods on a Monday to hear Dj Mix and Corey Smith play… Slide down to the chandelier to holla at my family… Got to touch the hood with The Office to grab some turkey bites… Also a new vibe called L.Y.V with a very grown type of atmosphere and good food… To change speed you’ve got to take them to Funk Night @ the Lincoln Factory you will never catch this vibe anywhere else… For the big kids at heart we can always throw the skates on and hit the Rollercade… How could you come visit us and not get some Hip Hop in your life… We’re going to a kick back where you seen the rare gems rubbing elbows and where dream collaborations happen, none other than Konnies Kitchen (Dawg It’s Like That There)… Then we off to the lab so we can work Yup you guessed it Suite 2000 at Mix Factory One, IV’s place… Lastly, we going to a Lions game so you can go home super charged… My City is all energy right now…

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
We are definitely a rare act so the shouts range from 2 different countries. We don’t want to just name individuals, because we’ll be here all day. So many different people push us from many regions… Lets say the people that have worked with, for, or planned to work with us. This is your huge shoutout and we are grateful to have you.
