We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Thompson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Chris, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my own business came from the obstacles and barrier’s that were put in my way, sparking my drive and determination to make the kind of music that makes me happy while opening doors for other artists, giving them the freedom to express themselves as they please as well.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Street Brokers Entertainment is a “One stop shop” for the working artist. Specializing in Music production and Audio engineering, we also offer Visual services such as music videos, commercial ads even film scores. What sets us apart from the rest is that we are a small but growing company, which allows us to work more intimately with our artists assuring they achieve their goals while developing a career.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There is always something to do in Grand Rapids from the Local Bars that help crown our town “Beer City”, to catching a game or show at Van Andel Area. We can hit Gun Lake Casino for gambling and entertainment or head to the Beaches, which are comparable to some of the nicest vacation spots in the US. One of my favorite areas in GR would have to be the Eastown neighborhood where I grew up. Plenty of food, drinks and good people.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely wouldn’t be where I am in my Career if it weren’t for my Oldest Brother Robert aka Bunky. Not only did he take my music and what I was doing seriously, he also saw the vision and got behind me as we worked to build a network of Artist, producers, Managers, CEOs etc. that is still growing today.
