Meet Destiny Monique | Dessert maker and Service Coordinator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Destiny Monique and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Destiny, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The main thought that came to mind when starting my business, was keeping my grandmother legacy and name alive. That’s the only thing that I could think of at the moment when starting my business.
What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart from other is the love I put into each order I create. I wouldn’t be here today 4 years later, if it wasn’t for God and my grandmother. Was it easy? No, there have been days/some orders where it has been challenging. But I remembered why I do this, prayed and continued on with my orders. I had to learn to never overdue it. Don’t have a busy weekend on Mother’s Day weekend, than turn around and do another busy weekend the following weekend, not allowing myself to rest. Because I’m using the week to prep for the weekend. I had to learn to give myself time to rest after a busy rush. Than start over again.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
That’s a hard one lol. Of course we would have to go to a Detroit Lions game, night one we would go to Coopers Hawk Winery and Restaurant In Clinton Township, I’m not a big breakfast person but we’ll go to Bob evens to eat, for lunch get a corn beef sandwich, for dinner one the second night, we’ll go to Cellar 59. Third day, breakfast at a Coney Island in Clinton Township somewhere, due some shopping and go get pictures in front of all the sports stadiums. For lunch, have my mom cook lol. Dinner Hungry Howies pizza. The forth day, cracker Barrel for breakfast, lunch would be something light and we could eat with our hands, while we’re heading to Motown, than to green field village, dinner will be Jets Pizza. The fifth day, we’re having Bob Evens again for breakfast, going to the Detroit Zoo get something to eat from there, going to the first Ford museum, getting some sleep because I’m tired lol, dinner we’re going to Asahi Sushi Restaurant in Clinton Township. We’re leaving the next day so we’re packing are dinner lol
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mom, when I feel stressed or at my breaking point, she always know the right things to say to keep me going. Ebony Griffin, she’s constantly thinking of me when it come to certain jobs. Making sure my items are on display.
