Meet Dmyia Williams | Dali Dimàge / Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dmyia Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dmyia, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
One conventional advice i disagree with is “fake it till you make it.” While striving for confidence is important, pretending to be knowledgeable or skilled in something can ultimately lead to negative consequences. Faking expertise can result in mistakes, poor decisions, and erode trust with others. This piece of advice have always left me stuck. Instead, it’s better to acknowledge areas of weakness and seek out learning opportunities to improve. Authenticity and honesty are valued qualities in my personal and professional relationships, and pretending to know more than you do can damage those connections.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My brand strive to empower individuals to express their unique style and personality through personalized, high-quality clothing. Our mission is to create apparel that not only looks good, but feels good to wear, using ethically sourced materials and sustainable manufacturing practices. We believe in promoting inclusivity and body positivity, ensuring that every customer feels confident and comfortable in their own skin. Our brand is dedicated to pushing boundaries, celebrating creativity, and inspiring confidence in all who wear our designs. We started off in ready to wear designs and began moving into event/ formal wear. I’ve learned that what may look like failure, doesn’t have to feel like it. Every loss in my business was more of a lesson than a loss. I learned how to be resilient, take risks and always to be teachable. Dali Dimàge is an ever evolving brand, we are growing daily. I strive to ensure an enjoyable experience when shopping with me. We are working hard around the clock to produce the best look’s possible while stepping out of the box of design. As a designer, i’m looking to create more innovative designs this season. I’m looking to change the way my brand is seen. Stay tuned and up to date on our website and instagram.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of my favorite spots in the city to eat would be ; The Block, Townhouse and if your looking to grab a quick snack Legends is a good coney to try. Downtown Detroit is a good area to be in, their always doing new things with the midway so it’s worth checking out.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It may be a bit cliche, but i thank God for where i am today in my business. For the most part of my journey, i feel like every test and trial have been testing my strength to withstand my position. Through every obstacle God has allowed me to see growth and gain wisdom. With God, i have been able to step out on faith and move into a new target market. So again, I thank God for all he has done in molding me, making me and shaping me into the designer i need to be for my brand.
