Meet Drip Trip | Musician, Pizza Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Drip Trip and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Drip, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I started Trippy Pizza Company LLC when I lost my job as a web developer at the Detroit Land Bank. I had already been the cook for our home events, so I thought to use my skills at the music and art events we had been hosting. It had a really great debut and I made over $800 in that 6 hours.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I know what sets me apart from a lot of people is my ability to take risks and adapt. I never look at anything as a loss, but as a lesson. I took my anxiety and worry about what’s to come and moved it to staying active and present to improve or mitigate current events. It helps me be aware on what is the best move in the current moment. Its wasn’t easy at all. There were a lot of painful lessons and experiences I would do differently with my current knowledge, but how could I receive that knowledge without the lesson?
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, the first place I am taking anyone is to my restaurant so they can try Trippy Pizza Co. and checkout the great music that Detroit has to offer. From there, we head downtown to the Arcades before we got stop by all the hot open mics. The Compound and Craft Cannabis Club always have great events and music, so we would stop in there to show some support. I’m definitely will take them to Leaf and Bud. Everything they have is fire.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The whole team of Lucid Revolution Records and my collaborative peer group have been a major key to my moves. Qweeny, Mo Vega, DJ Choc City, Dream, Euphemia, T-Man and Leah Rose have been helping make all the moves that have made my efforts as strong as I intend them to be.
