Meet Edward Blair II | Recording Artist, Producer, Recording Engineer, Football & Basketball Coach, Personal Trainer, Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Edward Blair II and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Edward, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
How hard it is to break into the music industry and how much money it takes to really push your brand/artistry, How difficult it can be to transition from an athlete to a coach and to successfully teach the sport you played, The money it takes to successfully market a business and bring awareness to it wether it’s online or in person.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have music available on all streaming platforms and I’ve charted a total of 10 times and have been publicized on blogs and online magazines more than 10 times. I’ve had music played on Sirius XM radio and Hot 97 and also local fm stations in my Hometown of Kalamazoo MI and in cities throughout MI. I’ve been streamed over 3 million times as a solo artist. Also I am a member of Grammy U by The Recording Academy and and part of the Audio Engineering Society. I hold a music certification from Full Sail University in Audio Production.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Bronson park, Bells Eccentric Cafe, Airway Fun Center, Homer Stryker Field, Milham Park, Miller Auditorium, Air Zoo, State Theater, Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, Kalamazoo Valley Museum.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout Queen By Sierra Shanelle which is a clothing brand owned by my wife Sierra Shanelle Blair. Her brand will be in Meijer Retail Store in spring of 2024. She also has a Queen’s Club which is a podcast/circle group that she’d Spotlights on women who are survivors of domestic violence like herself and gives women a platform to talk about what they’ve overcome and are succeeding at in present time. Also would like to shoutout the Jr Bearcat Football & Cheer organization which is where I got my start as a coach and Springfield Middle School where I’ll be assisting with basketball this winter. I also would like to shoutout Young Men Of Potential which is founded by myself, Aldo Holmes, Ryan Payne, and Mose Robinson which are all employees of Battle Creek Public Schools and Communities In Schools. Last but not least my church New Harvest Christian Center and our pastors Tina and Ivan Lee.
