Hi Elvira, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
In 2022, my family and I moved from Ukraine to the United States. Upon arriving, I immediately focused on obtaining all the necessary licenses to work as a cosmetologist. Just a year later, I made the bold decision to open my own business. Being brave and determined, I took this significant risk, and it has undoubtedly been the decision that has contributed the most to my success.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business, Face Pro, is centered around providing personalized skincare treatments that focus on real, lasting transformations. With my medical background and experience as a dermatologist in Ukraine, I bring a deep understanding of skin health to my practice. What sets me apart is the deep connection I build with my clients—it’s not just about offering services but about truly understanding each client’s unique skin needs and helping them achieve their goals. I take pride in the progress my clients make, especially when they see their skin improve after months of care and dedication. Witnessing these transformations is incredibly rewarding.

In addition to offering comprehensive facial care, I specialize in one of the most exciting and transformative treatments—buccal massage. This deep-tissue facial massage has become a favorite among my clients, and many travel from neighboring cities specifically to experience it.

I also genuinely enjoy chatting with my clients. It’s amazing to see how many incredible and inspiring people there are! We may all come from different backgrounds, but what unites us is a shared desire to live in happiness and joy.

The journey to where I am today wasn’t easy. Moving to a new country and starting my business from the ground up presented many challenges—language barriers, navigating legal requirements, and building a client base from scratch. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is to trust the process and be patient. Success doesn’t happen overnight, and there are no shortcuts. Don’t be afraid! Just take small steps towards your big goal. The key is to keep moving forward. Embrace every challenge as an opportunity for growth.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Last week, I visited Mackinac Island, and it was absolutely amazing! I’m truly delighted by this place. Usually on weekends, I visit %Coffee on Maple Rd — it’s my favorite spot for morning coffee. Unfortunately, because of managing my business and spending time with my kids, I don’t get out much. In addition, I’m a regular attendee of the Business Networking for Good organized by the ‘Creative Society’ project, which also provides me with many opportunities for growth

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I owe so much of my success to my family, who has been my constant source of strength and support. Moving to a new country and starting from scratch wasn’t easy, but their encouragement gave me the confidence to pursue my dreams. I would also like to give a shoutout to my amazing clients, who inspire me every day to keep growing and improving.

I also want to recognize the Creative Society, a non-profit organization I volunteer with. Its global community, including members in the USA, provided me with incredible support and assistance during my relocation. Their help with navigating a new and unfamiliar country made all the difference.
