We had the good fortune of connecting with Grant Clark and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Grant, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
Throughout my life I would say that I have been inspired by many different people. From my parents to coaches to teachers, there has been more than I can count. As I have continued to grow as a Doctor of Chiropractic, I can say that I am inspired by the patients I take care of and the miracles I get to wittiness everyday. I have had the pleasure of seeing patients going on 4 years now and have encountered almost every condition that I learned about in school. Being an upper cervical chiropractor, that specializes in the QSM3 technique, I have seen patients from all over the United States and even some from across the rest of North America. These patients have come to me in search of a solution to their issues some traveling days to find out the root cause. When you have a patients that comes to you with Trigeminal Neuralgia (often known as the Suicide Disease) and they are on their last option or you have a parent bring in a child who is non-verbal and on the Autism spectrum, and the parents just want them to have a chance at a normal life, you start to feel pressure. But that is the great thing about what I do and every single day I get to make a change in these individuals life. I have seen patients rip up their suicide notes in front of me. I have seen a small child who at first meeting screamed at me for an hour, give me a hug and say “Thank you Dr. Clark. That moment broke me down and caused me to cry alongside the parents of that little warrior. Those are the moment that even if I am at a low moment in time that I am inspired to work as hard as I can for anyone that I provide care for or anyone who enters our office. I personally have a history with mental health issues and I have taken it upon myself to show how that upper cervical chiropractic care can be a great method for treating mental health. I believe that taking pressure off the brain stem and freeing the nervous system of interference can produce better results for those fight mental illness then medication and other extreme forms of treatment. Working with cases like this everyday have inspired me to continue to purse this passion and use every chance I can to tell the world about what I have learned and experienced. At the end of the day I believe that if we can produced a society that looks at chiropractic as a way to removed subluxation and interference from the nervous system, we will produce a healthier society that is able to live out its god given potential. This will also allow us to create generational health as our children and grandchildren will be healthier and this will continue further down the road. Some may believe this is a radical thought process but I have seen these changes in person and as it is plastered around the halls at Palmer College of Chiropractic, “Expect Miracles”. These are the people and beliefs that continue to inspire me!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Doctor of Chiropractic at Lazar Spinal Care in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We are an upper cervical chiropractic clinic that specializes in a technique call QSM3 and we also do 3 different technology based nervous system scans. I have been in practice for about 4 years now. I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. I have been an athlete my whole life and played division 2 football. During my football career, I had multiple injuries that chiropractic care seems to only help with. I started my career working at a small wellness clinic in my hometown in the Village of Clinton and then decided to take a risk and join Lazar Spinal Care. I knew very little about upper cervical chiropractic so I was nervous at first but after witnessing some life altering changes patients were having, I knew I was home. The lessons I learned along the way are that each individual has their own story and they deserve the best possible care when they are with you. I truly believe that all my patients are family and I will do whatever I can to get them the results they want and help them reach their goals. I would like to everyone to know that most times they have had trauma to the body from a young age (can be birth trauma, falls, etc.) that is actually causing their pain and issues, and they may actually be making their problems worse. At Lazar Spinal Care we find the root cause of their dis-ease and help eliminate that interference so they can live the life they were created too!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If friends were visiting, we would have a fun filled day of eating. I have always loved to try new foods. We would find some local mom and pop restaurants that serve Greek food, hispanic food, and Asian food. And at the end you have to either stop at the Chop house in Ann Arbor to celebrate with a nice steak and seafood. Or if we are going casual, you can’t go wrong with a Coney Island. For hangout spots, living in Ann Arbor, you know we would have to visit the University of Michigan to see a game at the Big House in the fall or at Yost during the winter!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Dr. Jonathan Lazar, D.C. for giving me the chance to work along side him as we provide care and education for patients. Together we will shake up the health care system!

Also the later, great Greg Harden for teaching me to “control the controllable” I miss you G and thank you for making me feel like the most important person in my the world when we talked
