We had the good fortune of connecting with Harley Wallen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Harley, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
One of my very favorite quotes is “How you do anything is how you do everything” because it keeps proving to be true. I think you need to create an environment where we set ourselves up for success and it’s how I do things on my own and I also evaluate others with this in mind. I guess it’s a character thing, I really love dealing with people who have figured out how intra-connected we are and what incredible magic can happen when we all get the big picture and pull in the same direction!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I wanted to tell Nicole’s story not just because it’s something I think we should be exposed to but because we need change as the statistics are brutal and unacceptable especially for women & children! We spend so much money and resources fighting things far less damaging to our society and it’s just time we went in offense against Domestic Violence. We made the film feel like a bit of a reenactment bringing us back and forth to court to the flashbacks that lead us there. We tried tackling the legal system as well as the public getting yo peek behind the vails of Domestic Violence. I feel we can really make a difference and entertain at the same time.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh coming to the greater Detroit area is a bigger treat than most people realize. I’d definitely start with a good hotel so the downtime would be a treat and put them up at Royal Park Hotel, it’s a treat for a great room, a good night sleep in a classy yet cozy hotel with great food if you catch yourself hungry. I’d also go to Pine Knob for a concert in the summertime on a sunny day, it’s hard to beat. Then finish the day up in Traverse City tasting some great wine.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Right now I am deeply invested in fighting Domestic Violence as my upcoming film the True Story of “Finding Nicole” has made a deep impression on me and as someone who grew up in the midst of Domestic Violence, I know how impactful something like that can be. We have joined Nicole Beverly and the Enough Initiative in their fight!
