Meet Hope Ramales | Chiropractor

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hope Ramales and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hope, what principle do you value most?
I value people’s time and voice. I grew up with constant fatigue and multiple autoimmune conditions, which went undiagnosed for almost 22 years, so I understand what it’s like to feel undervalued and gaslighted in medicine. As I was about to graduate in 2021, working under several Doctors for my internships, I realized that the only way to create the values I think are important and emphasize on time the way I wanted to, I’d have to start my own practice. So, 6 weeks after graduation, that’s exactly what I did, and Health with Hope Chiropractic was born. I now work for myself, providing patients with the time I feel they deserve to be spending with me (about 45 minutes each session), allowing my patient’s to feel heard and be able to speak openly to me about their concerns, and I’m able to continue providing the best care I can because I don’t overwork myself to the point of burn out. I want to change the way people think about Chiropractic. Typically, people think, fast paced, minimal time with the doctor, get adjusted and out the door. You can take a deep breath and relax when you come into my office. Yes I do perform Chiropractic adjustments on the patient’s who need/want them, but I also provide nutrition and supplement advice, order bloodwork when we need to dive deeper into a patient’s health, prescribe at home movements to reduce pain while at home, and I offer multiple anti-inflammatory and pain reducing therapies, such as electrostimulation and cupping therapy, to my patient’s to address the root cause of the issue. I started my practice to ensure I could provide the time and allow people to feel heard, and that’s just what I continue to do at Health with Hope Chiropractic.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I love talking about my business! Health with Hope Chiropractic is an office that feels comfortable, is safe for all people, and allows anyone who walks in the door to feel heard. I found a space that didn’t feel sterile, like many medical related offices tend to, so that it felt less like a doctor’s visit, and more like a WELLNESS visit. At my office, we are discovering root cause and working on your health journey together! I know most people think of getting “backs cracked” and then out the door when they think Chiropractor, but that’s just not the reality of what things look like at my office. We spend almost an hour together, discussing anything new or old that’s been going on, addressing both the muscles and the joints through soft tissue work and adjustments, educating on how to help prevent the pain/symptom at home, and sometimes we incorporate other modalities such as cupping therapy, supplement/nutrition advice, and electrostimulation therapy. The thing that makes Health with Hope Chiropractic stand out from most Chiropractic offices is that… it’s just me! When you walk in the door, I greet you, I treat you, I listen to you. I wanted to create a safe, intimate, environment where all my patient’s feel comfortable and are able to relax. This, I feel, is all crucial to where the real healing happens. You can’t heal when you’re body is in a stressed or fight or flight state.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There are too many incredible places to choose from!
I love the sushi and sushi burritos at Toba Sushi, so we would definitely have to have lunch there. I’d take my friend to Asylum like for a beautiful walk after gorging ourselves in sushi, and then go check out Bare Bones Beauty for a facial, massage, or get our nails done (or why not all three!?) at my favorite spa in town. For dinner, we’d go to Jungle Bird for a delicious mocktail and fun meal (gluten free options available here!). After dinner, I’d want to walk around downtown to see all the beautiful holiday lights and make our way to gull meadow farms for a walk through the holiday lights there as well. This time of year there are so many great places to see lights! This town has so much to offer, it’s hard to narrow it down to just a few!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The beautiful community of Kalamazoo deserves a HUGE thank you from me. I honestly am blown away at how incredible this community is each and every day. We have so many options related to health in and around Kalamazoo alone, but the sense of community and kindness here is like no other.
I’m especially grateful to my friend Dr. Jennifer Buchner who has continued to inspire me to create this beautiful place of work I love coming to. I want to thank Lilly Roche, owner of Soul Embodied, who has helped me to continue always brainstorming new ideas and creating a healthy relationship with work life balance. I also want to thank my friend Jill Therrien, owner of Rooted in the Sky, for also inspiring me to help people in ways outside the box of what we expect from our professions. There are so many other people, too many to even put. But thank you Kalamazoo. You absolutely rock!
