We had the good fortune of connecting with Jackamo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jackamo, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
To us success is defined by happiness. Are you happy with what you’re putting into your craft? Are you happy with what you’re showing the world? Those are the questions we ask ourselves all the time. If we ever say no to those questions then we equate that with being unsuccessful.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Jackamo is the type of band you would hear playing around a campfire on a cloudless night, as quoted in our bio.

Our genuine love and connection to music and each other is something we take pride in. We put in the effort to pursue our true passion: sharing our music with the world.

There are always challenges along the way, and that’s just life. We try to look at a challenge as growth. If you overcome a challenge you also show your strength to continue on.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We personally think Detroit is an underrated foodie city. There are tons of amazing spots to enjoy. If you’re visiting us you’re going to be eating a-lot of food.

Our go-to brunch is always Vivio’s in Eastern Market. You can get a pot full of mussels and a Bloody Mary with a shot of beer. Truly, all you need in life.

Lunch- Baobab Fare in New Center. It’s the best!

Dinner varies but we love getting pierogis at The Polish Village in Hamtramck.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Our parents, they have always supported our endeavors, no matter how wild. Our friends, just like our parents, continue to stand by our side.
Our colleagues, for pushing us to work hard and always believing in us.
