We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaden Lazar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaden, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I would always say I had a good work ethic because I like everything perfect! As a kid it was mostly play but sometimes I would stay up late helping my mom paint or set up garage sales. As I got older I began working and I again wanted everything perfect. I graduated high school a year early and because I was dual enrolled I almost had my bachelor’s. I worked full time, had high school full time, and college. Now, as a mom, my balance has changed a bit. I still work full time and have school but my very first priority is my son. Before, I could work as much as I wanted and make plans with friends whenever but now I focus on my son and his days even if that means I do school when he’s sleeping.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have always grown up with chiropractic care. My dad, specializes in an upper cervical technique called QSM3 that is extremely gentle. I loved watching him help people without giving them medicine or surgery. The people he was helping were healing! I’ve attended QSM3 seminars and training and I can continue to learn and improve. I currently work at a chiropractic office at the front desk and as a tech. I absolutely love it! Soon, I will be a chiropractor myself. I would say it has not been easy. I have been the youngest employee most places I’ve worked and I have always felt the need to prove that I have earned a position on the team. When I work with my dad, contrary to common assumptions, I had it harder. My dad knew what I was capable of and held me to higher standards and wouldn’t accept any less. I feel this has made me the young woman I am today and I respect him for it. A lesson I have learned along the way would be don’t worry about what other people think. Instead, become so focused on your goals that you blow them all out of the water. I want the world to know that if you’re a young mother or young woman who wants to become a mother one day, your career doesn’t have to stop. You can still be an amazing mother and achieve all of your goals in life! Don’t give up, keep trying!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love food! If I’m out, I spend my time hanging out at most restaurants in the area. Our newest restaurant in Ann Arbor is Slim Chickens. They opened early January and I’ve tried everything they have already. The most exciting place around would have to be The Big House! Ann Arbor is known for our Michigan football team.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to Greg Harden! He was my mentor for some time and he completely helped me change my mindset in difficult times. He empowered me and truly believed in me. He since has passed away but I wanted to fully express my deepest gratitude and thankfulness! Rest in peace.
