We had the good fortune of connecting with Jason Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jason, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I think about risk as something that is necessary for success and that every aspect of our life has risk so the key is not to avoid it but learn how to manage it as well as when we take risk make sure we are taking “calculated risk”

Taking risk in my life has helped me to become successful in every area of my life. I take risk to invest money in the stock market knowing it may not come back but it has also been one of the biggest wealth creators for my family and I.

I have taken risk to leave corporate America and build a business teaching individuals how to invest in the stock market. To many leaving a safe secure job may have seemed risky but to me the risk of not going after my dreams and seeing how big it can become and how many people we could impact was more risky.

Whenever I am confronted with risk I look at the upside and the downside, the risk to reward ratio and I attach it from a mindset of how do I mitigate the worst case scenario and how do I optimize for the upside.

What should our readers know about your business?
Growing up poor from Detroit, I was always trying to figure out how to make money and change our financial situation. When I was 18 I took my highschool graduation money and opened an investment account with a well known bank. I came back two years later to check on my investments and they had lost $1,300 of the $2,000 I invested. I was hurt, disappointed and said I can do this myself so I took the $700 that was left, spent $200 on some Air Jordans and invested the rest in a trading acount.

I was just trying to make $50 a week so I didn’t have to work on Saturdays selling cell phones at my $8/hour Sprint PCS job. I eventually got good and growing my $500 account and wondered how to get more money into the account. I had a scholarship to Wayne State Universities Mike Ilitch School of Business so I applied for a student loan and too my 10,000 refund check and put it in the stock market. I grew that account to over $100,000 by the time I was 21. I eventually grew the account to $250,0000 and risked it all trying to make Half a Million and lost everything.

I had to move back home and sell all my belongings and I had the crazy Idea to record myself making the money back. That’s how my Youtube channel started. As I stared making the money back people would ask how I did it and I often wondered why other people didn’t explain the stock market in regular language so that regular people could understand. Thus my business idea was born to teach people how it all worked.

Some lessons I’ve learned along the way is that “you never go broke taking a profit”. So don’t be greedy with the stock market, be happy with whatever returns you get.

I learned that anyone can invest in the stock market and grow their account, they just need to know how and have the right teacher to explain it to them i a way that they understand.

About our brand we are creating a movement called 5 Year Millionaire, where the goal is to help regular everyday people start their journey to becoming a millionaire in five years from the stock market.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would first pull out the Rolls Royce and weather permitting put the top down. Most likely stroll through Birmingham for happy our at 220 Merril. We would stop by stray cat lounge a cigar bar for some live music and cigars. If we were in the mood to go shopping, I would take him to Somerset mall to check out some of the designer stores. If it’s the weekend and a car show is going up, we’d ride through the M1 concourse in Pontiac Michigan.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicated my shoutout to my later mother who passed away August 12th, 2023. She raised two boys as a single parent in some of the toughest neighborhood conditions and despite our humble beginnings we turned out ok.
