We had the good fortune of connecting with Jeanette Cobb-Johnson, owner, We Have It All and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jeanette, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have always been a busy person, no matter how much was already on my plate. I was looking for something that I would enjoy doing, be fulfilling and be passionate about. In whatever I do, I want to be able to express my creativity and craftsmanship. Creating wood engraved products provides a medium for creating unique and beautiful one-of-a-kind items. I find great personal satisfaction in creating custom-made products and seeing a finished piece that I have designed.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?

I consider the creation and designs that I produce, not only as woodwork, but as art. The charcuterie boards that I create are not always used to display food. Many of my customers never even set food on the board but display it as an art piece. I take great pride in my unique wood designs, just like the distinctive clothes found in a boutique. And of course, any photo woodwork is one-of-a-kind. Creating something that stands out and captures people’s attention is a wonderful accomplishment.

I have an entire list of ideas that I write down every time something pops into my head. The challenge is making the time to create the designs since this is not a full-time gig at this time, but I put in as much time as possible to build for the future.

What I have learned is that my products are not suited for everyone, and that’s okay. I am focused on creating value for those who appreciate and benefit from what I offer. I am committed to staying positive and not becoming discouraged if I don’t make immediate sales. In the appropriate time as I continue to pursue my vision and goals I believe that my products will be successful.

My story and brand really has nothing to do with woodworking, but everything to do with being creative with everything I do. I have always been a creative designer whether it was creating Excel spreadsheets, staging furniture or organizing my home. I find fulfillment in knowing that each piece I create will find its place in someone’s home or business, becoming a cherished part of their story.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

I like to entertain at my home, and I really don’t go out much and most of my family and friends know this. Most of our time would be spent at my home starting out with them staying in my guest room which is set up as the best hotel room with five-star service. The room includes a king-sized bed, large TV, white towels, robes and slippers. I will prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner for many of the days because I enjoy cooking. I will plan for an outdoor gathering in my yard with family and friends. If it’s warm out, we will have games set up in the yard, musical entertainment and catered food. If it’s cold out and no snow, we will light up the fire pits in the yard and roast marshmallows.

I live in the metro-Detroit area, and I have found a few spots that I like to go to dinner including Vigilante Kitchen & Bar in Detroit (Crab Rangoon and Pho-Ken Noodle Soup), District Seventy8 in Detroit (lamb ribs), Social Birmingham (Truffle Fries). There are a couple of clothing boutiques that we will visit “My Favorites” Irresistible Boutique in Southfield, VIGA in Birmingham and Accessories By Stephanie in W. Bloomfield. I love concerts at the Fox Theater so if there’s any R&B concerts of my genre I would definitely get tickets. Finally, a visit to the Riverwalk in downtown Detroit would be a place to go.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to thank God for allowing me the opportunity to do what I do. I also have to thank my husband Antwine Johnson for always being my number one supporter and assistant and finally family and friends that have supported me in this endeavor.
