We had the good fortune of connecting with Jill Koole and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jill, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Being a stay-at-home mom of 4 kids varying from ages 8 to 1, I was in full-on mom mode with not much break from it. I was tired and out of shape and didn’t get out of the house much with so many littles and I needed something else to be passionate about. I decided to start working out from home with a group on Facebook and try to start taking a little time for myself each day. I then saw how much I needed this community of other moms who are all connecting on social media, taking time for themselves, encouraging one another, and just being there for one another, and decided to start making my own community of ladies working to better their health and live a healthier lifestyle.

I partnered with a company that offers at-home workout programs and nutrition plans and started my own little company focusing on mamas of littles who are limited on time and still want to get stronger and healthier and are able to utilize the workouts and programs from the comfort of their own homes WHILE having a community to be able to check into daily with and have that encouragement and motivation from.

5 years later it has grown into something I look forward to DAILY to lean into and work with all while being able to be home with my now 5 kids. It has not only helped me stay consistent with my own health and fitness lifestyle but has also helped us with some of the bills and helped minimize our debt. I am thankful daily that I decided to take the leap of faith and that I found this company to partner with, especially for all those mamas who trust me to help keep them inspired and motivated to live a healthy lifestyle.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I love helping others see the results of making small, consistent, healthier habits and the impact it has on their lives in the long run. Quite a few of my customers have lost 50+ pounds and have KEPT it off because we focus on making this a lifestyle versus the quick fad diets and pills that have short-term results.

Like any business, you will have ebbs and flows. Good months and not-as-good months but I knew that even if I was helping change a few lady’s lifestyles for the better, I wasn’t going to quit. I will be with those ladies who trusted me to be their mentor and accountability coach forever or as long as they want me to be there for them and we are always looking for others to join us to start making small healthier habits as well.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my favorite spots is Lake Michigan beaches! My family and I love to walk the Grand Haven boardwalk around the marina and down the pier. There is a cute mini golf course along the way and ice cream shops that we like to stop in too. Snug Harbor is a great restaurant if you like to sit outside and watch the boats come in and out while enjoying a nice dinner.

Rosy Mound is a great .7-mile hike to a smaller beach along Lake Michigan as well. There are some stairways and decks and boardwalks along the dune at the end as well. Some great views!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wanted to shout out a couple of people. One is my husband of now 13 years! I brought up the subject of wanting to start this little business from home on the side and partner with a company and he was supportive right from the beginning. He said to try it for a year and after a year see if it was fulfilling and something I wanted to continue to do. I am so thankful for him and the support and care he has always shown for me.

I wanted to shout out Team Family Faith Fitness which is the name of my community of women who check in daily with each other and myself. As much as I try to be inspiring, motivating, and encouraging to them, THEY are just as inspiring to ME. They were there for me when I lost my mom 3 years ago to cancer at the age of 52 and when I had my 5th baby and for all the ups and downs in my life. You ladies are the BEST and I’m thankful for you daily!
