We had the good fortune of connecting with Kayla Kling and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kayla, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my own business was a tough decision. I doubted myself. I had a client who said “the only person doubting you, is you” and a light bulb just clicked. My plan rolled out and into place. I was determined to be successful. I just sort of ran with it. Let things fall into place. Everyday I am learning, growing and improving. It’s a journey.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Estheticians provide expert advice. There is so much confusing and contradictory information available to the average consumer. Estheticians can provide treatments that you can’t do yourself. The many advantages of visiting an esthetician include preventive care, appropriate skin care advice and, best of all, a deeply relaxing experience! Your skin is your largest organ– acting as a barrier, protecting you from the elements and housing your organs. By taking good care of your skin you improve your overall health, not just your appearance. An esthetician can provide a very important service in alerting you to serious skin problems that need the intervention of a dermatologist, such as changes in moles or suspicious spots.

I want everyone to know how hard myself and others in this industry work. The continuous learning, managing and making clients happy is worth all the sleepless nights of a small business owner. We strive to be the best in our corner of the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d start at crows nest for breakfast. Followed by a stroll downtown for shopping. The HUB for lunch. It’s causal, relaxing and quiet. After lunch, facials and massages at my spa Bare Bones Beauty. Cocktails at stamped robin, Dinner at brick and brine. Followed by hot tub oasis to relax.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Where would I be with out my CLIENTS! They are the backbone to my life and business. The constant love and support they have shown me over the years is what keeps me motivated to be the best in my area. Family, friends and my sister have encouraged and supported me in my success. I’d be nothing with out them. Reminding me that it’s a bad day, not a bad life. Showing support on social media. Referring friends and family. I am truly blessed with the best support system.
